NOTICE
THE Town of Talking Rock will
be conducting a “Blind Auction”
beginning on 5 December
2022. The Blind Auction will run
for 30 days, and all sealed bids
will be opened during the next
Council Meeting, scheduled for
5 January 2023 at 7:00 pm, lo
cated at the Town Hall, 4675
Highway 136 W, Talking Rock,
GA 30175.
The Town of Talking Rock
will be auctioning a 1991
CHEVROLET GMT-400,
VIN: 1GBJC34K8ME143980.
The vehicle is “as is” and you
will be bidding on all contents.
The Town of Talking Rock does
have a title. There is no war
ranty. The vehicle is located
near Town Hall and is available
for viewing. You can drop off or
mail your sealed bids to the
Town Hall. The winner of the
auction will be notified at the
conclusion of the auction and
will be responsible for removing
the vehicle, as soon as possible.
Rules for the Sealed Bids: The
minimum bid for a sealed bid
auction shall be the fair market
value of the property or interest
in property as determined under
section 13.01.060(B). A sealed-
bid auction is a type of auction
process in which all bidders, si
multaneously, submit sealed
bids to the auctioneer so that no
bidder knows how much the
other auction participants have
bid. Sealed bid refers to a writ
ten bid placed in a sealed enve
lope. The sealed bid is not
opened until the stated date, at
which time all bids are opened
together. The highest bidder is
usually declared the winner of
the bidding process, if it is con
sidered to be fair market value.
Additionally, in a sealed-bid auc
tion, bidders can only submit
one sealed bid and therefore
cannot adjust their bids based
on competing bids. This sets it
apart from the more common
English auction, also known as
the open ascending price auc
tion, where participants can
make multiple bids and bid
against each other.
