Attention Football Fans: Give blood
You could win tickets to the Super Bowl
During this gift giving season, re
member to give the gift of life. On
Monday, January 9, 2023 from 1-5
p.m. the Presbyterian Women of Fel
lowship Presbyterian Church will

to the Red Cross.
“We urge
community American
members to do- Red CrOSS

help ensure that patients in local
hospitals have a supply of blood
ready and waiting before an emer
gency occurs. There’s no better feel
ing than knowing that your blood
donation may give someone a sec
ond chance at life.”
See you on January 9. Our ad
dress is Fellowship Presbyterian
Church, 389 Bent Tree Drive,
Jasper.

Bring One for the Chipper
- Recycle Your Christmas Tree
It’s that time of year again. The Christmas fes
tivities are coming to a close, the decorations are
coming down, and it’s time for the tree to vacate
your living room. But rather than taking your
tree to the landfill, recycle it! Through the Keep
Georgia Beautiful Foundation’s (KGBF) ‘Bring
One for the Chipper’ program, you can help re
duce waste by recycling your tree.
Keep Pickens Beautiful has been participating
in the Bring One for the Chipper program for
decades, and the number of trees has grown each
year. Last year, we chipped 96 trees. Help us
break 100 this year.
The Bring One for the Chipper program was
started by the KGBF more than 30 years ago, and
in that time, more than 6 Million trees have been
recycled! They “encourage communities across
the state to participate in the program by collect
ing Christmas trees and recycling them into
mulch or fuel, transforming them into fish or
wildlife habitats, or utilizing other appropriate
reuse methods.”
Bring your tree to the Park-and-Ride lot
near the Veterans’ Memorial across from Lee
Newton Park by Saturday, January 7.
Thank you for recycling your tree. Every tree
that’s diverted
from the land
fill helps!
