The Oklahoma State Univer
sity Ferguson College of
Agriculture recognized five
freshmen students for their
excellence both in and out of
the classroom during their
freshmen year. Jeronimo
Lara was named the Charles
and Magda Browning Out
standing Freshman. Addi
tionally, Charlcie Gatewood,
Emma Long, Blake Rob
bins, and Jared Stone were
recognized with the Fresh
man Excellence Award for
their leadership inside and
outside of the classroom.
Emma Long is a sopho
more studying agricultural
education from Jasper, Geor
gia. She is the daughter of
Greg and Ann Long. During
her freshman year, Long was
active in Freshman in Transi
tion, Block and Bridle and
Freshman Transfer Council.
She is also a McKnight
Scholar.
“There is a place for you
here,” Long said. “If you
want to get involved, there is
a way for you to do that.
There are so many people
here that are ready to support
you and care for you. There
is an endless number of op
portunities for you at Okla
homa State University.”

were named Dean's Scholars
for the Fall 2022 semester.

Sesame Chicken & Napa Cabbage Stir Fry
Ingredients
•1 pound chicken breasts (cut in 1" in
pieces)
• 1 large onion (diced)***
• 1 red pepper (diced)***
• 1 head napa cabbage (thinly sliced)
• 2 tablespoons ginger (grated)
• 3 cloves garlic (grated)***
• 2 teaspoons chili garlic paste (optional)
• !4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
• !4 cup rice wine vinegar
• !4 cup chicken broth (low sodium)
• 1 tablespoon Rooster’s Toasted Sesame
Oil
• 4 scallions (diced)
Instructions
• Heat a pan over medium-high heat and
spray with nonstick cooking spray. Saute
chicken breast until browned, about 6-7
minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
• In the same pan, saute onion and red
pepper for 2-3 minutes or until they begin
to soften. Add sliced cabbage to pan and
continue sauteing for 8-10 minutes until
cabbage is softened.
• Meanwhile in a small bowl, whisk to
gether ginger, garlic, chili garlic pasta,
soy sauce, vinegar, chicken broth, and
sesame oil.
• Add sauce to vegetable mixture and
throw the chicken back in as well. Cook
for about 3 minutes more, to warm
chicken through, and sprinkle with diced
scallions. Serve with rice.

sity and was among 596 stu
dents recognized for
scholastic achievement.
To be eligible for the Aca
demic Achievement List, a
student must previously earn
at least 12 credit hours at
GSW and earn a 3.5 or
higher GPA.

talk as he updated the group
on his vision for Pickens
County and the improve

missioners have been able to
complete. After hearing
Chairperson Stancil, the
group announced winners of
the Grant-in-Aid Fund Silent
dents who are registered for

and who have a grade point
average of at least 3.65.
