Sequoyah Con
There’s something for every fandom at
the library. Our annual Sequoyah-Con re
turns this March, with three libraries hosting
over three weekends. Visit the R.T. Jones
Memorial Library on March 4th for Poke-
mon-themed programming, the Gilmer
County Library on March 11th for gaming
programming of all kinds, and the Wood-
stock Public Library on March 18th for pro
gramming that explores the paranormal.

28 van transports veterans to
the Atlanta VA Medical Cen
ter for free. The van’s first
pickup is at the Fannin
County Veterans Conference
Center in Blue Ridge and
stops in Ellijay, Jasper, Can
ton and Woodstock.

Amateur Radio Club
The Jasper Amateur
Radio Club meets on the
second Thursday of each
month at 7 p.m. at the Cor
nerstone Church Auxiliary
building, 145 Cornerstone
Drive (off Camp Road just
east of the Pickens County
Community Center).
All visitors are welcome
to attend. Each meeting has
a free presentation and dis
cussion of Amateur Radio
events or operating modes,
including Emergency Com

Bacon Avocado Fries
Ingredients
3 avocados
24 thin strips of bacon
1/4 c. ranch dressing, for serving
Directions - Air Fryer
Step 1
Slice each avocado into 8 equally-sized wedges. Wrap each wedge
with a strip of bacon, cutting bacon if needed.
Step 2
Working in batches, arrange in air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook at 400° for 8 minutes until bacon is cooked through and
crispy.
Step 3
Serve warm with ranch.
Vreeland celebrates 100 years with family
Mrs. Lee Vreeland celebrated her 100th
birthday surrounded by family and friends
at Jasper’s I Love NY Pizza.
Affectionately known as Mom, Nannie,
and Grandma, Vreeland has lived in two
centuries and seen her family grow to five
generations. Her family traveled from
Texas, Florida, Alabama, and New Jersey to
celebrate the matriarch of the family. When
asked why she thinks she has lived this long
she replied, “To see this, my family all to
gether! ”
