Writers group to meet
April 20
Submitted by Sassafras
Literary Exchange
This month's meeting of
the Sassafras Literary Ex
change is set for Thursday,
April 20 at 1 p.m. in the af
ternoon at Johnny's Pizza. It
is located at 744 Noah Drive
in Jasper.
Their side room is quiet
and you may order from the
menu or just sit around and
chew the fat. Meetings usu
ally last for an hour or an
hour and a half. There are
writers, and want-to-be writ
ers who submit a few pages
of work to be read over and
commented on.
The one goal of the Sas
safras Literary Exchange is to
empower and promote cre
ative writing in the adults and
youth of Pickens County.
Hopefully, a website will
be up and running in the near
future with information on
the club and its activities.
There is an e-mail address,
Sassafrasliterary@yahoo.co
m. For those who would like
to submit a few pages for re
view, submit it there. Club
members will print out a
copy. Come by the meeting
and members will discuss the
work and make suggestions.
Most of us who are working
on a new project could use
helpful suggestions.
Sassafras meetings are in
teresting. Writing can be
hard work. But it can also be
fun.
