Greetings!
As we begin to transition from one season to the
next, I find myself reflecting upon the simplicity of
summer and its amazing sights, sounds, smells and
flavors.
For many of us, summer is a slower pace than the
other three seasons. It’s a time for vacations,
focused family time, no school, outdoor barbecues,
and a wide array of fun recreational activities.
Some of the things I love about summer are
children splashing in pools, vibrant flowers after an
afternoon rain shower, fireflies (or lightning bugs,
here in the South), hummingbirds, fresh-sliced
homegrown tomatoes, a juicy watermelon and star-
filled skies. And even though summer is the hottest
of the four seasons, science tells us that the sun
increases our serotonin levels — the hormone that
makes us feel happy. So, if you feel more relaxed
and happier during the summer, you can thank the
sun!
I hope all of you have enjoyed a happy, healthy
summer. We’re now approaching autumn, with
children returning to school, harvesting, falling
leaves, shorter days and all things pumpkin. It
seems the days just go by faster after summer is
over. Take time to savor the moments.
It’s important to me that we all maintain a healthy
work/life balance to continue to be our best selves.
Please feel free to reach out to me or any of our
leaders if you need us.
