Art, jazz, stilt walker and more at Sept. Art Walk

ArtWalk Jasper’s Septem
ber 22 event is an evening art
and music lovers won’t want
to miss. From juried visual
artists to jazz, a professional
stilt walker and more, down
town Jasper will be trans
formed into a feast for the
senses.
In addition to juried artists
who will be placed inside
downtown businesses, The
Michael Opitz Trio jazz
group will headline at the
Pickens County Courthouse;
Bent Tree Mountain Jazz will
perform on South Main near
Synovus Bank; and Frankie
Sparks will perform at The
Old Jail.
Professional Atlanta-
based stilt walker Sarah
Grace will wow attendees
with sparkle and a jazzy flair
in her performance on Main
Street.
There will also be outdoor
artist vendors, food and drink
vendors including The Shack
with Asian-fusion fare, Dos
Margaritas with their special
ArtWalk Margarita, and Mila
& Rosi’s Taste.

The Pickens County Board of Education will meet on
Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 4:30 PM atthe Pick
ens County Board of Education Central Offi ce, 100
D.B. Carroll Street, Jasper, GA 30143for a called
board meeting and public budget hearing. The pur
pose of the budget hearing will be tohear public input
and comments concerning the proposed FY24
budget for the Pickens CountySchool System. This
presentation will be the second of two FY24 public
budget hearings. TheBoard will then enter into an ex
ecutive session.

woodworkers, potters, a
wooden model ship builder,
metal worker, and fiber arts.
“I’m excited we had
artists from different medi
ums enter this month, and am
looking forward to showcas
ing a few different medi
ums,” said ArtWalk Director
Angela Reinhardt.
The event is Friday,
Sept. 22 from 6-9 p.m.

ral year was 2022. Three suc
cessful events were held in
that fall, and a spring event
was held this past May. Busi
nesses and artists have re
ported strong foot traffic and

for October 27 from 6-9 p.m.
With Halloween just around
the comer, attendees will be
encourage to dress like their
favorite artist, art style or
painting.
“We want people to get
creative,” Reinhardt said.
“Even if they’re not in the
show, they can elevate the
artistic energy. I thought the
themed art costumes would
be so fun, and foster a mem
orable and unique experi
ence.”
