Brother and sister, violinist and
pianist, at next Casual Classics
Concertmaster of the At
lanta Symphony, violinist
David Coucheron and his
sister Julie Coucheron,
piano, will perform the
Monday, October 2, con
cert of the Casual Classics
Concert Series. The recital
is at 7 p.m. at Fellowship
Presbyterian Church, 389
Bent Tree Drive. The con
cert will include Tomaso Vi-
tali’s Chaconne, Ludwig van
Beethoven’s Violin Sonata 1,
Christian Sinding’s Suite in
A Minor, and Edvard Grieg’s
Violin Sonata 3.
There will be an opportu
nity to mingle over coffee,
tea and hot chocolate, pro
vided by Red Bean Coffee
before the concert from 6:15
p.m., and during intermis
sion.
David Coucheron joined
the Atlanta Symphony Or
chestra as Concertmaster in
September 2010. At the time,
he was the youngest concert-
master among any major
U.S. orchestra. Coucheron
has given solo recitals at
Carnegie Hall, Wigmore
Hall, the Kennedy Center
and the Olympic Winter
Games (Salt Lake City,
Utah), as well as many other
spots.
An active recording artist,
recordings with sister and pi
anist Julie Coucheron in
clude “David and Julie”
(Naxos/Mudi) and “Debut”
(Naxos). He is also the fea
tured soloist on the Atlanta
Symphony Orchestra’s
recording of Vaughan
Williams’ The Lark Ascend
ing, which was released on
ASO Media in fall 2014.
Coucheron began playing
the violin at age three. He
earned his Bachelor of
Music degree from The Cur
tis Institute of Music, his
Master of Music from The
Juilliard School and his Mas
ter of Musical Performance
from the Guildhall School of
Music and Drama, studying
with teachers including Igor
Ozim, Aaron Rosand, Lewis
Kaplan and David Takeno.

Born in Oslo, Norway,
Julie Coucheron began play
ing the piano at age four. She
earned her Bachelor and
Master’s Degree with honors
from the Royal Academy of
Music in London. At the age
of 32, Ms. Coucheron has es
tablished an international ca
reer, winning awards and
prizes in Italy, Germany, UK
and in the United States.
Ms. Coucheron has
worked with musicians such
as Claude Frank, Emanuel
Ax, Chee-Yun Kim, Christo
pher O’Riley, Steve Miller
Band, Yo-Yo Ma, and Elton
John, and has toured Europe,
America, South America and
Asia, performing in halls like
Verizon Hall, Wigmore Hall,
the Kennedy Center and
Carnegie Hall.
Ms. Coucheron has per
formed with the Norwegian
Radio Symphony Orchestra,
Oslo Philharmonic; Jena
Symphony Orchestra, At
lanta Symphony Orchestra,
Atlanta Philarmonic and the
Ukrainian Symphony Or
chestra in Kiev.
Ms. Coucheron regularly
performs at festivals such as
the Oslo Chamber Music
Festival, Bergen Interna
tional Music Festival,
Amelia Island Music Festi
val. She is Artistic Director
of the Fjord Cadenza festival
in Norway, the Kon Tiki
Chamber Music Festival in
Oslo, Norway and Georgian
Chamber Players in Atlanta,
GA.
In addition, Ms.
Coucheron also performed
during the 2003 Winter
Olympic Games in Salt Lake
City, Utah, and at the 2012
Summer Olympic Games in
London.
In August 2014, she was
appointed Assistant Profes
sor at Kennesaw State Uni
versity in Atlanta, Georgia,
one of the top 50 state
schools in the United States.
Ms. Coucheron has given
masterclasses and taught at
schools such as the New
England Conservatory,
Julie Coucheron and
brother David will perform
an evening of classical
music here on October 2 in
a free concert.

Ms. Coucheron enjoys a

styles and repertoire emerg
ing from her highly trained
classical background to the
more contemporary and pop
ular music. Recent collabora
tions include performances
with the Steve Miller Band
and Elton John.
There is no charge for ad
mission to this concert, al
though contributions are
gratefully received; dona
tions from the series’ patrons
cover the expenses of these
concerts. Donations can also

2023 Property Tax Credit
In March of this year Governor Brian Kemp along with the General Assembly of the
State of Georgia enacted the Homestead Tax Relief Grant (HTRG) program, in
accordance with O.C.G.A §36-89-1. This is a One-Time tax reduction program for
all eligible homeowners who have an approved Homestead Exemption in place on
their primary place of residence.
Property owners will receive the tax relief grant in the form of a $18,000 reduction
in the assessed value of their homesteaded property, therefore, the tax reduction
amounts will vary amongst property owners.
The Homestead Tax Relief Grant will apply to all millage rates with the exception
of:
• Bonds
• Tax Allocation Districts
• Special Service Districts created after December 31, 2004
Please note that Rental Properties and Non-Homesteaded properties will not be
eligible for the Tax Relief Grant.
The Homestead Tax Relief Grant (HTRG) will be shown as a line item on the tax bill
you receive from your local taxing authority (County, School and/or City) and will
be shown as a reduction to your calculated property taxes.
