Miss Jadan Dean, raised by
her loving grandmother, Miss
Kathy Rochester, is repre
senting the junior class on the
2023 Homecoming Court at
Pickens High School. Miss
Dean is grateful for her op
portunity as a potential can
didate for Homecoming
Princess saying, “it means so
much to me to be someone
that people can look up to as
a role model.” Jadan demon
strates her compassionate na
ture and leadership skills
through being a proud mem
ber of YoungLife and Part
ners Club. Her energetic and
playful personality brings
light to any room. She strives
to be kind and involve others
as much as possible. After
high school Miss Dean plans
to attend a four-year univer
sity and major in occupa
tional therapy. She has
chosen this path to better the
daily lives of people who
struggle with mental disabil
ities . She is very well on the
way to achieving her goals.
Miss Jadan Dean is ab
solutely someone younger
classmates, and even older
individuals should look up to
on their journey through life.
Brylee Deering interviewed

Brylee Deering is a Junior at
PHS, and she is very excited
to be on homecoming court.
She is the captain of the cross
country team, and this is her
third year on the Varsity
Nettes basketball team. Her
parents are Christi Deering
and Seth Deering. Brylee
plans on going to a D1 col
lege, preferably Alabama, to
major in engineering. Brylee
also plans to run in college.
Her favorite memories from
PHS are going to state with
her cross country team, and
going to the final four in bas
ketball. Brylee’s favorite
hobbies are running, basket
ball, anything outdoors, and
reading. She is involved in
several activities outside of
school including track, Beta
Club, being a Wyldlife
Leader, and a part of Young
Life. She says, “I didn’t do
any of the campaigning stuff,
so it means a lot that people
are like “Oh, Brylee Deering.
I’m gonna check her name
down.”
Sophomores
Interview with Anna Grace

Anna Grace Finney is repre
senting the sophomore class.
She cares deeply about her
family and friends. She has
been involved in dance for
the past eight years. Her ex
perience in her first year of
high school taught her that if
you pay attention and do
your work, school is much
easier to manage. When
asked about her goals for the
remainder of her high school
career, she responded “Pay
attention in class, study hard,
but also make time to have
fun with my friends.”
Ainsley Jones interviewed

Miss. Ainsley Jones is repre
senting the sophomore class
on the 2023 Homecoming
Court. Ainsley is the daugh
ter of Lisa Jones and Tony
Jones. She has looked up to
her mother Lisa throughout
high school and states, “I
look up to her sense of humor
and the advice she has given
me. She has been my role
model throughout high
school.” Ainsley's goal while
in high school is to excel in
her sport as well as her aca
demics. She has been in
volved in softball during her
two years of high school and
wants to continue to grow in
her playing ability. After high
school, Mrs. Jones plans to
go to a four year college. She
hopes to go into the educa
tion field and become a
teacher. Ainsley aspires to be
a good role model for those
around her during her time
on Homecoming court.
Maddox Ray interviewed

Miss Maddox Ray is a soph
omore class representative
for Homecoming 2023. She
plays soccer for Pickens
County High School. When
asked about her high school
experience she said, “It’s re
ally good so far.” Her goals
for high school are to com
plete three pathways. She is
focused on the foreign lan
guage, healthcare science,
and criminal justice path
ways. While she was initially
overwhelmed by the idea of
high school, she has come to
appreciate the opportunity to
grow more friendships. She
plans to continue to work
hard, stay organized, and stay
determined to reach her
goals.

Interview with Bree Jewell

Miss Bree Jewell is the
daughter of Heather and
Bryan Jewell. Bree is repre
senting the freshman class on
Homecoming Court. Bree
feels that being on Home
coming Court is a big honor
and a great experience. She
states, “I’m honored to be on
Homecoming Court because
it's a great experience and a
good way to represent my
school.” Bree is involved in
the Varsity volleyball team
and is also a member of the
basketball team. Bree looks
up to her past basketball
coach, Olivia, because she is
determined and works hard
to achieve her goals.

Hayden Padgett is represent
ing the freshman class on the
2023 Homecoming Court.
Being on Homecoming Court
means a lot. She states, “It’s
good to know that people see
me as someone who can rep
resent the school and that I
am nice.” She was worried
coming to the high school
that the work in her classes
would be overwhelming, but
that it is not as bad as she
thought it would be. Hay
den’s experience during her
freshman year was different
than how she would expect,
but believes that it is cool and
different.
