Eileen Bentley
Eileen Bentley, 87,
passed away on Tuesday,
October 10, 2023 in Bab
bitt, Minnesota.
She was the daughter of
Peter and Freida Oquist,
born on November 5, 1935
in Olgilvie, Minnesota and
grew up in Pengilly. She
met the love of her life, Ray
Bentley, when attending
Beautician School in Rapid City, South Dakota while he was
stationed at Ellsworth AFB.
They were married for 68 years and had five daughters.
Eileen loved to sing and had a beautiful voice that was en
joyed by many at various events throughout the years. She
always had a song in her heart and would break out singing
anytime anywhere. She welcomed and took care of everyone
who walked through her doors, day or night. She was the host
of many family gatherings, the latest being her husband’s
90th birthday celebration in July. She was a lifelong member
of the Woodland Presbyterian Church and served as choir di
rector for many years. She also attended Talking Rock First
Baptist Church while wintering in Georgia. Eileen will be
greatly missed by her Georgia and Minnesota family and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Freida
Oquist; her brothers Fred, Arnold, Edward and Wallace
Oquist; her sisters Adeline Oquist, Eleanore Woods, Ethel
Maki and Lillian Oquist; her daughter Karen Monte, grand
son Bobby Slining and son-in-law Don Swartz.
She is survived by her husband Orville Ray Bentley; sister
Violet Maki; daughters Debbie (Jeff) McGraw, Vickey Slin
ing, Dawn (Joe) McKenney and Joan Swartz; grandchildren
JillAnzinger (Chad Lockey), Brenda (Joe) Carlan, Sean (Jes
sica Dunn) McDonald, Patrick (Summer) McDonald, Donald
(Briita Noyes) Swartz, Samantha (Joe) Roarty, Laccey
(Logan) Murphy and Larry Powers; great-grandchildren
Nathaniel (Ivy DiPrima), Ethan (Victoria Hammock), Fox,
Arabella, Ophelia, Ryan Keagan, Kael, Judy, Charley, Reigan
and many more cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eileen’s daughters are honoring her request that no serv
ices be held for her at this time.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kemtz Fu
neral Home of Ely.
Jim Rutledge

Rutledge, 84, of Welch,
Oklahoma, and formerly of
Talking Rock, Georgia, de
parted this life Tuesday
evening, October 17, 2023
at the Southwest Christian
Care in Union City, Georgia.
Jim was bom August 2, 1939, in Picher, Oklahoma, a son
of the late Robert Roy and Edna Duty Rutledge. He was also
preceded in death by his wives, Frances Hamrick Rutledge
and Lillian “Lynn” Coram Rutledge, his uncle and aunt, Jay
and Marilyn Rutledge, brothers, Kenneth Rutledge, and Roy
Rutledge and sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Bob Kel
ley.
Jim proudly served his country during the Vietnam War
in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W., Ellijay
American Legion Post #82 and Little Refuge Baptist Church.
The family would like to say a very special “Thank You”
to Sharon Langham Lewis and April Lamb for everything
they did for Jim and his family,
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and
Jamie Bearden of Ranger, GA; son, Larry Lincoln of Welch,
OK; grandchildren, Jacob and Candice Lincoln, Tiffany Lin
coln, and Hunter Bearden; great-grandchildren, Lillian and
Theodore Lincoln; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and
Dorothy Rutledge of Fall Brook, CA; sister, Bobbie Speciale
of Wichita, KS; uncle and aunt, Jerry and Mary Rutledge of
Welch, OK; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. James Darrell “Jim”
Rutledge were held Saturday, October 21 at 2 p.m. at Ponders
Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Terry Cloud and Danny
Taylor officiating. He was laid to rest at Friendship Baptist
Church Cemetery in Ludville, Georgia, with Hunter Bearden,
Bodie Timms, Jacob Lincoln, Stephen Langham, Vaughn
Wooten, and Kyle Blaylock honored to serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to
the Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Rd. #7225 Union
City, GA, 30291.

Carolyn was born Novem
ber 21, 1954, in Chatsworth,
Georgia, a daughter of the
late, John Richard and Beu
lah Anna Land Ghorley.
She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, General
Lee Ghorley and sisters, Shirley Edge and Brenda Duvall.
When she was younger she attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Carolyn was autistic and was cared for by her sisters,
Mary McDaniel of Fairmount, GA, and Diane Morrison of
Calhoun, GA; aunt, Pauline Jones of Dalton, GA; several
nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Miss Carolyn Ann Ghorley
were held Monday, October 23 at 7 p.m. at Ponders Fair-
mount Chapel with Reverend Wilbur Ridings officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made

2023 in Jasper, GA. He was
the son of David Wentworth
and Eveleen Wentworth,
grandfather of Noah Huber,
who preceded him in death.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife for 39 years
Rosana C Wentworth and daughter Milagros R. E. Went
worth, 10 nieces and nephews, sister and brothers in law, and
numerous cousins and friends.
He had an amazing creative and artistic personality. His
talents, and love will leave an indeniable mark on the hearts
of all who knew him. He not only made many great contri
butions in life, but left an impression that was uniquely his
own.
A mass service will be held at 1 p.m., on October 25th
2023 at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church with Fr.
Tri Nguyen officiating.
A gathering will be held at the Catholic Church Bam, right
after the Mass ceremony.
A graveside ceremony will be held at the Macedonia Me
morial Gardens in Canton on October 26 at 1 p.m. Care and
trust placed with In their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cre
mations.

faithful friend to many and
will be missed.
He was preceded in death
by his mother and father,
Linzy and Betty Young of Talking Rock; sisters and broth-
ers-in-law, Arlene and Henry Hamrick of Talking Rock,
Grace and Luther Hamrick of Calhoun, Mildred Hancock of
Ludville; sister, Jeanette Heramb of Calhoun; brothers, JB
Young of Calhoun; and infant brother, Raymond Young of
Ludville.
JL is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and
Clint Blackwell and granddaughter, Ashley Blackwell of Ball
Ground; Ed and Faye of Ludville, James and Melba of Fair-
mount, Frances and the late Manuel Watson of Calhoun and
Nathan Young also of Calhoun, and brother-in-law Dennis
Hancock of Ludville. Several nieces and nephews also sur
vive. He is also survived by his devoted and loyal canine
companions, Cooter Brown and Precious.
A memorial service was held Sunday, October 22 in the
Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Mock offici
ating.

2 p.m. from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with John
Chivington officiating. Interment followed in Lake Forest
Memorial Park.

to Roper Funeral Home in Dustin's honor.

day, October 19, 2023 at Wickshire Senior Living Center.
Mrs. Ivey is survived by her son, Kennady Sale of Col
lierville, TN; stepdaughter, Johna Ivey of Ashville, NC;
brother and sister-in-law, John & Kerry Bush of Wichita, KS;
numerous cousins and friends.
Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at
Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

ton; son and daughter-in-law, Tadd and Ashley Cain of Elli
jay; sisters, Geraldine Carr of Jasper, Brenda Massey of
Temple; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Marsha Cain
of Dallas, Jerry and Loretta Pass of Douglasville. Many
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also
survive.
Fredrick was preceded in death by his wife, Venita Cain.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

(Anya) Lawson, and Kelby Gartrell; great-granddaughters,
Makena Lawson and Lillian Lawson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lawson;

A memorial service will be Friday, October 27, 2023 at
Cagle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dudley Edwards of
