Dragons
Football
unit executed a perfect on-
side kick recovered by Poole
giving the Dragons the ball
inside the White County 45
yard line. Unfortunately, the
offense turned the ball over
on downs and gave it back to
the Warriors. White County
would methodically drive
down the field on their next
possession and score on a 9
yard touchdown run. They
would, however, miss the
PAT and the Dragons still led
20-19. The Dragon offense
got the ball back and took the
field vs the Warriors with
just under 3 minutes on the
clock and effectively drove
down the field thanks to a
strong connection between
Streicher and Purdy that re
sulted in a Pickens touch
down on an 8 yard pass in
the back of the endzone. The
PAT was good and the Drag
ons led 27-19 going into
halftime.
White took the second
half kickoff and drove down
the field to cut the score to
27-25. They attempted a 2
point conversion to tie the
game up but were stopped by
the Pickens defense in an
other crucial part of the
game. On the following
Pickens offensive series,
Streicher hit Poole for a 69
yard pass to get the ball deep
into Warrior territory. The
drive was capped off by a hat
trick TD pass from Streicher
to Purdy, making the score
33-25. Unfortunately the
PAT was no good.
On the next Warrior pos
session the Dragon defense
stood tall and forced a fum
ble by Hayden Roland. The
momentum was clearly on
the side of the Dragons. Un
fortunately later in the offen
sive possession, the Dragons
fumbled, giving it back to
White County, allowing
them to score but again
stopped an attempted 2 point
conversion to tie the game
PHS Comp Cheer & Sideline
Cheer takes 1st place
The Pickens High School Varsity Competition Cheer
team placed 1st at the Loganville High School Fear to
Cheer Competition last weekend against Hart, Franklin
and Morgan County High School.
Facing a tough judging panel, the team performed a
beautiful routine and increased their scores from the
week prior. The team is now entering the most important
week of their season - Region/Sectionals week where
they will compete against all other AAA teams in Georgia
in hopes to qualify for the state championship on Satur
day, November 11th at the Macon Coliseum.
Wish them luck. Way to go, Dragons.

up.
The Dragons led 33-31
now.
On the following Dragon
offensive series Streicher
started the drive with a 24
yard run into Warrior terri
tory. He later found Hayden
Jones on 3 and 11 with a 15
yard pass that Jones caught 1
handed in what may have
been the most impressive
catch of the night in a game
that had several jaw-drop-
ping grabs in it. Streicher
would punch it in from 2
yards out to make the score
39-31 but unfortunately
again the PAT by the Drag
ons was wide right.
White County responded
with a touchdown drive of
their own to make it 39-37
but once again were stuffed
by the Dragon defense on the
2 point try. The score was
39-37.
On the following offen
sive possession, Streicher
found Jones on 3rd and 9 for
a 43 yard gain to mid-field,
and then again on 3rd and 7
for an 8 yard gain. From this
point Pickens was able to
force White to use all of their
timeouts, and eventually
bleed the clock out for a 39-
37 win, keeping their post
season hopes alive.
In one of the most the im
pressive offensive perform
ances in recent memory;
Streicher was 18-26 344 4
TDs 13 carries 80 yards
rushing 1 TD, Salto had 14
carries for 96 yards and 1
TD, Purdy had 6 catches for
109 yards and 3 TD, Poole
had 4 catches for 104 yards 1
TD, and Jones had 8 catches
for 119 yards. Overall, Pick
ens had 521 yards of offense.
The Dragons travel to
Wesleyan this Friday for a
must win game if they want
to make it into the playoffs.
Kickoff is at 7:30, come
out and support your Drag
ons.

Nova gets along great
with other dogs, loves

great with cats! We think
she probably has Bull

she is still a pup she can
be over exuberant at
times, but fun! She's so
cute playing with her toys
