Swallowing a Chickens Heart.
A romantic young waiter
girl at a hotel in Ontario, Can.,
came near losing her life the
other day by trying a foolish
experiment. She had heard an
old Haying that any girl who
wwaNowed a chicken’s heart
raw would have lor a husband
the first male person she shook
hands with, and believing the
proverb, attempted to swallow
a chicken’s raw hoart but faif -
ed. The heart stuck in her
throat and would not move ei¬
ther way, down o up. A U'JC
tor was called in and arrived
only in season to save the delu¬
ded girl from at; untinieiy death
by choking.
