DEATH NOTICES Obituaries are published as received Martha Arnold Mrs. Martha Kennedy Arnold, age 72, of Barnesville passed away, Friday, December 25, 2020 at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital. Martha was born Thursday, September 16, 1948, to the late Wyman Zack Kennedy and the late Lillie Lucile Kennedy Rivers. In ad dition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers, Wyman Ken nedy and Buddy Kennedy. She loved cooking and decorating cakes, she decorated cakes for Cub Foods and Ingles. Martha was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Milner, Georgia. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wil liam Arnold, Jr.; children and their spouses, Roger and Betty Todd, Debra and Greg Glover, and Kenneth and Melody Todd; grandchildren, Ashley Todd, Me gan and Tyler Dean, Treva Edge, Hannah Todd, and Chelsie Todd; great-grandchildren, Cheyanne Tidwell, Addison Edge, Ben Edge, Brooklyn Edge and Liam Todd; sister, Elizabeth Kennedy; several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth Barnes Elizabeth Johnson “Betty” Barnes passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sun day, December 20, 2020, the Fourth Sunday of Advent. Due to COV1D-19 restrictions, a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Betty was born in Macon, Georgia on January 24, 1929, the daughter of Thomas Ross Johnson and Mamie Lee Yates Johnson. She graduated from A.L. Miller School for Girls in 1946. She enjoyed many “Class of ‘46” luncheons and reunions with her friends until 2019. Betty was married to the love of her life, Wendell, on August 16, 1949. She was a devoted wife and mother of four children, grand mother to seven and great grandmother to eight and two/thirds (due in Feb). Her fierce love for her family was made known to all of them by her loving remembrances of birthdays, holidays, and special events in their individual lives. She also specially designed a family beach vacation for her children, grandchildren and great grandchil dren every July for thirty years on Hilton Head Island. Betty learned very early in her marriage to love golf as much as Wendell. They travelled with friends for many years all over the southeast to golf tourna ments and The Masters in Augusta. Betty began her real estate career in 1976 and was one of the first agents hired at Sheridan, Solomon and Kernaghan. She was a consummate professional and went to great lengths to ensure that every client and family found the perfect new home with love and care. She furthered her education in real estate by obtaining her GR1 Broker designation. She made the Macon Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club her third year in the business and remained there every year until her retirement. Betty reached the pinnacle of success by earning the Eagle Award in 1992, the Phoe nix Award in 1997, and the Crystal Award in 2007, which recognizes 25 years of membership in the Million Dollar Club. The Crystal Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Middle Georgia Association of Realtors. Throughout her life of service to others, Betty was a devoted Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout Den mother, and the greatest cheerleader to her children. Their accomplishments in life and service to God and others were life lessons well taught by Betty and Wendell. She was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and her love of God and family will live in their hearts forever. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wendell Wright Barnes, six siblings and spous es and three Barnes brothers and wives. She was the sole remaining matriarch on both sides of her family. She is survived by her son, Wendell Wright Barnes, Jr. (Reba) of Dalton, GA; her daughter Leesa Barnes Woodall (Lee) of Barnesville, GA; her daughter Sue Anne Morris of Macon, GA; and her son James Yates Barnes (Valerie) of Amelia Island, FL. She adored her grandchildren, Wendell Wright Barnes, 111 of Atlanta, GA; William Wright Woodall (Lane) of Barnesville, GA; Elizabeth Woodall Richards (Dave) of Acworth, GA; James Talmadge Woodall (Tanner) of Brookhaven, GA; Ansley Morris Waddell (Clay) of Macon, GA; Thomas Andrew Morris of Macon, GA; Samuel Wil liam Barnes of Charleston, SC; and her great grand children, Hatch, Scout, and Levi Woodall; Kate, Ezra and Nolan Richards; Hannah and Hayes Waddell and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Navicent Northside Rehabilitation Center, Home Instead Senior Care, and Pine Pointe Hospice for their care and comfort during Betty’s illness. Rudolph Chambley Mr. Rudolph (Rudy) Chambley, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 26, 2020. He was born in Columbus, Georgia on Janu ary 29, 1930. He was married to the love of his life, Thelma for 69 years. He worked as a truck driver in Atlanta for Transus Logistic Transportation. Mr. Chambley was an active member of Oak Hill Baptist Church where he en joyed being a greeter, even having his “own special door”. His love of family brought him much joy. Making music with his banjo and riding motorcycles were hobbies he enjoyed. He had a keen affinity for animals, especially dogs and he truly loved life. He is survived by his wife Thelma (Helms); son, Craig and wife Denise; daughter, Robin Hubbard and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Carli Hubbard, Laura Chambley-Shadrick and husband, Chris, Caysi Ellington and husband, Nigel and Chloe Lively and husband, Kevin; great grandchildren, Alexis Hubbard, Tyler Caldwell and Austin Shadrick. Esther Fuller Mrs. Esther “Mutt” Buice Fuller, age 97 of Barnes ville, Georgia passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Fuller was born on October 8,1923 and was a lifelong resident of Barnesville, Georgia. Her parents, Otis and Maggie Teems Buice, along with husband, Lawrence Fuller, Sr. sons, Lawrence (Joe) Fuller, Jr. and Larry Fuller all preceded her in death, y j She was a longtime member of the Barnesville Nazarene Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Harold Bryan; five grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Wednes day, December 30, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Barnesville Nazarene Church. Reverend Lonnie Grant officiated. Interment was held in Greenwood Cemetery. Johnny Blackmon Johnny Frank Blackmon passed away Friday, Janu ary 1, 2021. His wishes were to be cremated with no service. Mrs. Patsy Diane Johns Smith, age 66 of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Coliseum Medical Center, Macon. Patsy was born on Monday, May 31, 1954 to the late Cornelius Johns and the late Ruby Weathers Johns. She was also preceded in death by her broth er, Jimmy Johns. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and going to church; she loved being a moth er and memaw and taking care of her son, Scotty. Patsy is survived by her children, Scotty Worley, Tammy Worley, Crystal Dotson (David), Kimberly Smith (Joshua Borden), Cody Harper; grandchildren, Justin Burks, Josephlee Burks, Aaron Dotson, Andrew Dotson; sisters, Brenda Todd, Lucille Warner, Martha Martin; brother, Bobby Johns; nine nieces and neph ews also survive.
