LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY ®j)g litralti (Sa?ett£ Tuesday, February 2,2021 7A Compiled from a summary of incident reports driven vehicle and followed it. The driving became completed by Lamar deputies during the period Jan. 20-26, 2021. Jan. 20, Dep. Destiny Valenzuela met with a woman at the sheriff’s office regarding a scam. The woman received a call instructing her to put $2000 on a gift card to resolve a debt with Amazon. The caller knew the last four digits of the victim’s bank card. She cancelled the card and asked for a report to be filed. On Jan. 20, Dep. Justyn Weaver met with a woman who reported a camper stolen from the home of her late brother who died in February, 2020. The case was taken over by C1D. On Jan. 20, Dep. Weaver met with a woman whose 17-year-old daughter went missing. Both the mother and daughter work at Ingles and the daughter did not return home after work. SRO Dep. Adam Rowell was called in due to the missing teen being at student at LCHS. The Ingles security cameras were out of ser vice and no help. After several days, the girl returned home. On Jan. 20, Dep. Weaver met with a man who reported someone listed his home on Eady Creek Rd. for rent online against his wishes. Whomever listed the home used the phone number (717) 470.7795. On Jan. 19, Dep. Rowell worked the case of a 15-year-old girl who did not ride the school bus home as planned. On Jan. 21, Dep. Weaver was dispatched to the 1100 block of Hwy. 36 East regarding a traffic acci dent. He found a 2000 Dodge Durango parallel with the tree line. The driver, Dusty L. McLin, 39, said he had a blowout. Weaver noticed a wet spot on McLin’s crotch where he had lost control of bodily functions and detected the strong odor of alcohol. McLin admitted drinking eight Bud Lights about two hours earlier. He tested positive for alcohol on a roadside test. Open alcoholic beverage containers were found in the passenger side floorboard. McLin was arrested. At the jail, he blew .196 on the Intoxilyz- er. He was charged with two counts DUI, reckless driv ing, failure to maintain lane, no seatbelt, driving too fast for conditions and an open container violation. On Jan. 21, Sgt. Michael Brayton was patrolling northbound on 1-75 when he spotted an erratically worse as the driver watched Brayton in his mirror. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver, Christian R. Menedez-Ruiz, 30, provided a license. Brayton de tected the strong odor of marijuana and called Sgt. Brandon Goins for backup. When asked about the odor of marijuana, those in the vehicle relinquished a small bag of weed. They displayed fear when told the vehicle would be searched. They said there were no drugs or firearms in the car. A search turned up two guns in a black Nike bag and two Xanax tablets. Under the Nike bag, a trash bag containing two pounds of marijuana was located. Fraudulent credit cards and a notepad with various IDs listed was also located, indicating identity theft/ fraud. Ruiz went to jail charged with possession of mari juana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a controlled substance. A passenger, Osbaldo Bonilla, 28, was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana. A third passenger in the car was released pending further investigation. On Jan. 24, Dep. William Holt was dispatched to Crane Rd. regarding a suspicious vehicle. He found a tan 2001 Ford Explorer with no tag which had appar ently been abandoned. The SUV was towed. On Jan. 25, Dep. Ashley Johnson met with a man who hit a deer on Hwy. 41 South near MLK Bypass. His 2018 Chevy Silverado had front end damage and a report was filed for insurance purposes. On Jan. 25, Dep. Johnson met with an allegedly un ruly juvenile and his parents at a home on Evergreen North. On Jan. 25, Dep. Johnson worked a fight involving two male juveniles who were fighting over a juvenile female at a home on Means Rd. There was also indi cation that one of the juvenile males had sent nude photos to another 12-year-old female. On Jan. 25, Dep. Johnson was dispatched to 178 Perdue Rd. about an unwanted female on the prem ises. She relocated to 788 Willis Road and warned 45-year-old Kimala M. Parks not to return to the Per due Road residence where a family was in mourning. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies answered 142 calls. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 11 911 calls. Lamar County Fire Fighters responded to 16 911 calls. Barnesville Fire Fighters responded to two 911 calls. Community Ambulance Service responded to 131 calls. There were 12 accidents. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies served 10 state warrants. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies issued 10 traffic citations.
