LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period Jan.
27-Feb. 2, 2021.
On Jan. 27, Lt. Shane Moore responded to 1-75
where he met with a female motorist whose car had
been damaged by debris thrown up by a tractor-
trailer.
On Jan. 27, Lt. Moore met with personnel from the
Barnesville water department regarding a damaged
fire hydrant on O’Neal Street. It appeared a tractor
trailer ran over the hydrant and also damaged a gate
while entering Aldora Mills.
On Jan. 28, Dep. William Holt was dispatched to
a home at 474 Etheridge Mill Road regarding threats
made against the homeowner by her grandson.
On Jan. 28, Dep. Holt responded to 297 Hwy. 18
West where a woman had pulled over after she and
the father of her children scuffled in a vehicle. A
Meriwether County investigator who happened to be
driving by intervened. Capt. Chris Webster arrived
and the combatants were separated.
On Jan. 30, Lt. Michael Newman responded to a
home on McKenzie Road where a 61-year-old male
was allegedly making suicidal threats. Newman and
other deputies are familiar with the situation at the
home. Andrews became combative, demanding to
be taken to a VA hospital. He made a move to fight
with deputies and was taken to jail and charged with
disorderly conduct.
On Jan 31, Dep. Justyn Weaver was dispatched to
822 Chappell Mill Road where he found David Niblett,
78, deceased. C1D and coroner Clay Tillery were
called in.
On Jan. 31, Dep. Weaver was dispatched to a
home at 610 Zebulon Road where sisters Diana S. Seo,
19, and Esther T. Seo, 18, were engaged in a physi
cal fight. They were battling it out over a purse and
Esther Seo suffered a serious cut to her head. EMTs
were summoned to check out both females.
The sisters were separated and advised as to how
to go to magistrate court to charge the other if they
desired to do so.
On Feb. 1, Dep. Holt was dispatched to 388 Grove
Street where Colton McAteer reported the man who
leases pasture land behind his house had sicced two
ranch dogs on him while he was walking the property.
The other party, Clayton Taylor, said he was work
ing on a vehicle in a barn with the dogs present when
McAteer startled the dogs while sneaking around the
barn. Taylor said his cow dogs went for McAteer’s
ankles because that is how they are trained and bred.
The two were advised to let the other know when
they would be on the land to avoid future issues.
On Feb. 2, Dep. Anthony Redding was dispatched
to 113 Church Street where a man reported he had
been bitten by a pit bull while walking along Ware
Ave. No dog could be located. The victim was treated
for a bite by a Pike EMS unit.
On Feb. 2, Sgt. Brandon Goins was monitoring traf
fic on 1-75 northbound when he spotted a white Kia
following too closely behind another vehicle. The Kia
stopped on the exit ramp at the Barnesville-Jackson
exit. Goins watched as the male driver swapped
places with a female front seat passenger.
The female supplied a Tennessee license identify
ing her as Brittany L. Jackson, 29. Goins detected a
strong odor of marijuana. He then advised the male
to exit the vehicle and he refused. Goins summoned
Sgt. Michael Brayton for backup. As Brayton arrived,
Jackson fled, turning right on Hwy. 36, hitting a speed
of 85 m.p.h.
Within a short distance, Brayton was able to pit
the Kia and it crashed into a road sign and then the
perimeter fence at the prison. The male passenger
fled on foot and jumped into a pond on Diagnostic
Center grounds. He swam across the pond but was
taken into custody on the other side and identified as
Roy L. Clark, 41.
A pistol was found in a book bag in Jackson’s pos
session. Another was found in Clark’s possessions. He
said he threw a third handgun into the pond. A search
of the vehicle turned up two children, ammo, marijua
na and digital scales. Clark had outstanding warrants
in Tennessee.
The children were turned over to DFCS person
nel. Jackson went to jail charged with possession of
marijuana, first degree cruelty to children, fleeing and
attempting to elude and possession of a firearm dur
ing the commission of a felony.
Clark was charged with following too close, pos
session of a firearm by a convicted felon, first degree
cruelty to children, possession of marijuana, posses
sion of a firearm during the commission of a felony
