LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period Feb
ruary 24-March 2, 2021.
On Feb. 24, Lt. Shane Moore was dispatched to
156 Five Points Road where a man observed damage
to his 2018 GMC Sierra pickup truck and wanted a
report filed.
On Feb. 25, Dep. William Holt was dispatched to
a home at 222 Brinkley Road where a man watched a
female in a white car run over his mailbox and drive
off as if nothing happened. The suspect vehicle bore
the tag BUU 4413.
On Feb. 27, Lt. Moore located an orange 2001
Chevy Camaro abandoned and up on blocks in front
of Pleasant Hill Church on High Falls Road. The
vehicle was registered to a woman of Walton County.
She was contacted and reported the car belonged
to her son. A broken cell phone was found on the
windshield of the Camaro. The woman was unable to
contact her son.
On Feb. 27, Lt. Moore along with EMS were dis
patched to Hwy. 36 East near Morgan Dairy Road
regarding an incoherent woman in the ditch. She had
a dog on a leash attached to her and the dog would
not let anyone near the woman. Animal control was
summoned and corralled the dog.
The woman was identified and family members
reported she was bi-polar and off her medication and
may have ingested some other substance. Spalding
County deputies had found her walking earlier near
Orchard Hill and summoned family who picked her
up. An altercation ensued and she got out of the car
with her dog and resumed walking.
The woman was taken to Spalding Regional Medi
cal Center. The dog was returned to their home.
On Feb. 28, at 6:45 a.m., Lt. Moore was patrolling
Yatesville Road near McCollum Road when he was
nearly hit by a vehicle which swerved to avoid an
abandoned vehicle on the side of the road. The aban
doned car had open alcoholic beverage containers
inside. The registration was invalid.
The tag came back to a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am
registered to Johnny Smith of Barnesville. The car
was towed.
On March 2, Sgt. Wayman Henson was dispatched
to the intersection of Hwy. 18 West and Aldora Street
regarding a hit and run. A man reported a green 1970s
model Ford F-150 had pulled out of Aldora Street into
his path and forced him off the road and damaging a
mirror. The truck driver fled.
