fishing team state runner-up
Rock Springs Christian Academy had three teams
compete in the GAPPS/GISA State Bass Fishing Tour
nament on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Lake Oconee.
All three teams weighed in fish.
Bo Pasley and Hayes Fleming along with Boat
Captain Matt Fleming finished in 2nd place just one
pound short of first place.
LC soccer rolls
over Monticello

The LC soccer teams
rolled past Monticello on
the road last Tuesday in
their only matches of the
week. Friday’s contests
at Washington
County were
postponed until
to Monday due
to weather.
In the opener,
the Lady Tro
jans blasted the
‘Canes behind
a hat trick from
Deshunna Bowles. Kay-
lah Grammer and Alaina
Cato had two goals each
for LC. Vanessia Byrd,
Maci-Lauren Lanier and
Mackenzie Sherritt each
had a goal for Lamar in
the rout.
In the nightcap, the
Trojans hung on for a 4-3
win. Justin Brannan had
two goals and an assist.
Josh Moore had a goal
and two assists. Michael
Hernandez added a goal
while Daniel Navarro was
credited with an
assist.

won the JV
Trojan Cup
tournament that
began Thursday
and finished up over the
weekend. LC topped Har
ris County 4-2, Ogletho
rpe County 8-0 and Jones
County 9-0 to take the
title.
The Trojan JV went 1-2
in tourney action.

Royals roll past
Diamond Trojans
The LC Diamond Tro
jans (4-11) dropped two
region games to Bleckley
County last week.
On Tuesday,
LC went to
Cochran and fell
16-1 victims to
the Royals in a
game that was
over after three
innings. Trojans
pitchers gave up
10 hits while the hitters
managed only four hits.
On Friday, the Trojans
faced the Royals again on
the road and fell 9-1. The
game was close
until Bleckley
got six runs in
the bottom of
the sixth. The
Trojans man
aged only two
hits.
Lamar plays
region games at
Dodge County today and
Friday.
LCMS soccer teams get
wins, tie and
lightning suspension
The LCMS soccer
teams matched up with
three opponents last
week as the regular
season winds down. The
Lady Trojans went 2-1 for
the week while the Tro
jans had a win, a tie and
a lightning suspension.
On Monday at Monroe
County the Lady Trojans
came away with a 1-0
win. Makaiya Howard got
the lone goal of
the match off
an assist from
Ava Bushby. Ella
Bleu Leverett
and Chelsea
Roberts each
had a save in the
net for LCMS.
On Wednesday, Lamar
hosted the Henderson
Tigers who are unde
feated and have not been
scored upon and lost 4-0
but managed to shut out
the visitors in the second
half. Leverett and Rob
erts each recorded two
saves in the match.
On Friday, LCMS
topped Jones County 1-0
on the road. Lametriana
Byrd got the match’s
only goal. Roberts had
two saves in the net for
LCMS.
The Trojans tied Mon
roe County 4-4. Caleb
Miller had three goals
for LCMS while Broxton
Lanier had one. Kaden
Carter had three assists
while Hayden Cherry
added one.
The Trojans routed
Henderson Wednesday,
winning 6-2.
Miller had three
goals and an as
sist. Carter had
one goal and
three assists.
Markiviyon Dug
ger had a goal
and an assist
while Lanier had one
goal.
The Trojans match at
Jones County was halted
by lightning in the area
with 28:16 left on the
clock. That game will be
completed Thursday.
