PaUl KUI1St + + + X X X for Chief Magistrate Judge X X X Early Voting Monday ■ Friday April 5 th -9 th • Election Day is April 13 th ! JJbIqb One of the highlights of my husband William's life was his time serving Lamar County in the position of Chief Magistrate Judge. William was honored to serve Lamar County. I was proud of Judge Henson carrying on the tradition, and was heartbroken when she passed. Shortly, a new judge will be elected and I would like to recommend and endorse Paul Kunst to be the next Chief Magistrate Judge of Lamar County. I've known and done business with Paul for years. Paul's business background and legal experience, a must for being an effective judge, is second to none. Equally important is Paul’s fairness to all people. He has the correct temperament to be a judge, and will be a credit to Lamar County for years to come. I encourage you to vote for Paul Kunst on April 13, 2021. Jean Thomas Sgt. Abreu was serving as Barnesville’s appointed municipal judge, owned a Century 21 real estate franchise and served on the Industrial Develop ment Authority here when he was arrested in a sting operation on May 5, 2006. The sting was set up by former sheriff Joe Buice who said a con cerned parent told him Abreu had told a 16-year- old female and a friend he would provide them with alcoholic beverages. Deputies set up video and audio surveillance and Abreu arrived at the girl’s home at 8 p.m. with the alcohol. Abreu was arrested. In his possession were a 12-pack of Bud Light, the cell phone used to contact the girls, $3500 in cash and two condoms. Abreu was charged with DU1, violation of oath of office, furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor, permitting an un licensed person to drive and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was later sentenced to five years probation, removed from the IDA and the judgeship and ultimately lost the real estate franchise. In 2007, he was in volved in a serious traffic accident on Hwy. 18 and charged with DUI. He got 45 days in jail and was fined $950 on that charge. In 2009, Abreu was charged with harassing female personnel at a lo cal nursing home where he lived for a time after reportedly suffering a stroke, sheriff White said. • Provides minimally invasive procedures to open blocked arteries in the heart and legs • Preventive management and control of risk factors for cardiovascular disease CARDIOLOGY ^ 612.
