LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
POLICE REPORT
Compiled from a summary of incident reports com
pleted by Lamar deputies during the period March
31-April 6, 2021.
On March 31, Dep. Bossie Davis was dispatched
to a home on Hwy. 36 West after a report of someone
trying to break in the front door. Dep. Anthony Red
ding arrived and knocked on the door and announced
their presence. They then heard gunfire and took
cover behind a patrol car.
Davis got on the loudspeaker and ordered those in
the house to come to the front door unarmed. A fe
male complied and was the only person in the house.
She was identified as Sandra Taylor. A small gun was
found inside the home but no other persons. Taylor
was charged with reckless conduct and a mental
evaluation was scheduled.
On March 31, at 11:03 p.m., Dep. Justyn Weaver
was alerted to a driver headed south in the north
bound lane of Ga. Hwy. 7. He encountered a green
Toyota Tacoma that had stopped near Hot Shot. Dep.
Patrick Saunders arrived as backup.
The driver, 63-year-old Edward Smith, admitted he
was impaired, agreed to be tested and then began to
resist. His lowest reading on the intoximeter was .292.
He went to jail charged with two counts DUI, reckless
driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to exercise
due care, driving on the wrong side of the road, open
container violation, no seat belt and tag light and tail
light violations.
On March 31, Dep. Weaver was dispatched to
Chappell Mill Road where the owners said their
17-year-old daughter had broken up with her boy
friend Jonathan Dobek, 20. They said Dobek burned
property in their front yard. They were referred to
magistrate court.
On April 1, 12:47 a.m., Dep. Weaver stopped an
erratically driven vehicle that finally pulled over at
Barnesville Motel. The driver, Elizabeth E. Timmons,
47, acted as if she had not been stopped. She admit
ted she had no license but was out of cigarettes and
drove to Circle K.
Timmons smelled of alcohol, agreed to and failed a
roadside test and later blew .219 on the intoximeter at
the jail. She was charged with DUI, driving without a
license and failure to maintain lane.
On April 1, Dep. Weaver observed a 2013 Dodge
Avenger with only a ‘test drive’ tag on Hwy. 341 South
near Wilmot Road and stopped it. He called Dep.
Saunders for backup. The car smelled of marijuana.
The driver, Fernando Burch, and the front passenger,
Joshua Jones, were searched and had no contraband.
At that point, the lone rear seat passenger, 21-year-
old Nasir S. Robinson, admitted he had marijuana. He
also had four bundles of cash and a Glock handgun.
Robinson went to jail charged with possession
of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the
commission of a felony. The cash was seized.
On April 1, Dep. Weaver worked a report of a rape
at a home on Hwy. 36 East.
