That number is up from 1,354 cases May 9. Lamar has had 123 coronavirus related hospitalizations and 46 deaths As of Monday, sheriff Brad White was tracking 14 positive cases at 16 local residences. Judge Wilson hears criminal cases The following cases were adjudicated in Lamar superior court May 4 with Judge Tommy Wilson presiding. Monterrius Terrell McCoy, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction and no license: failed to appear, bench warrant issued. Gary Charles Williams, Jr., theft by receiving stolen property: case closed. James Charles Bowles, criminal trespass and ter roristic threats and acts: 24 months probation, no violent contact with victim. Nicole Diane Enke, trafficking in meth and obstruction: failed to appear, bench warrant is sued, may have COV1D. Cody Eugene Toland, possession of an illegal weapon: five years proba tion, $500 fine, 80 hours community service. Shannon Ann Barfield, financial transaction card theft: failed to appear, bench warrant issued. Edward Walton, 111, theft by taking: 12 months probation, $250 fine, 20 hours community service. William J. Oglesby, theft by deception: 12 months probation, $250 restitution, $200 fine and 60 days in jail. Jaylan Ray, aggravated assault and murder: bond set at $5 million. (See story, page 1A.) Johnny A. Sryock, possession of meth with intent to distribute: 20 years probation, $5000 fine plus surcharges, 80 hours community service and must cooperate with LCSO in further investiga tions. Roy Lee Clark, pos session of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon: 10 years probation, six months in jail, $1000 fine plus surcharges. Dallas Reynolds Fountain, Jr., identity fraud and forgery: failed to appear, bench warrant issued. Michael Thomas Ogletree, possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance and posses sion of marijuana: five years probation, $1500 fine and 80 hours com munity service. Maria Jo Crane, obstruction: failed to appear, bench warrant issued. Randy Eric Cheatham, fleeing and attempting to elude and failure to main tain lane: failed to appear, bench warrant issued. Shondrika La’Vanta Pope, possession of mari juana and no tag decal: failed to appear, bench warrant issued. Caleb Chaz Goddin, possession of a con trolled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug relat ed objects and disorderly conduct: failed to appear, bench warrant issued. SUBMITTED Church dedicates Rock Springs Rock Springs Church (RSC) held a dedication service for their 120 foot cross on May 16 at 3 p.m. at 219 Rock Springs Rd., Milner, GA. The cross, which was installed in 2020, includes a prayer garden, a heated baptis mal pool, and engraved bricks in honor and memoriam of individuals and families. “We are excited and humbled to dedicate this cross back to the Lord,” said RSC Senior Pastor, Benny Tate. “This cross represents the true mis sion of our church: to reach people for Christ, and we are excited to welcome our community to enjoy the cross for years to come!” The dedication ser vice included a brief 120 foot cross devotion from Pastor Benny Tate, worship, and multiple baptisms. The cross is open anytime for the community to visit and enjoy. Additionally, churches are invited to use this space for bap tism services.
