6A ®jje fh-ralti <§a?ette Tuesday, May 25,2021 LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY Compiled from a summary of incident reports completed by Lamar deputies during the period May 5-18, 2021. On May 6, Dep. Coleman Conner responded to 166 Oakdale Drive where a delivery truck had damaged a gate. The driver, aware of the damage, left the scene. The homeowners have video of the incident. On May 7, Dep. Justyn Weaver was monitoring traffic near the intersection of Old Hwy. 41 and Old Alabama Road when he spotted the driver of a 1995 Honda Accord not wearing a seatbelt and stopped it. The driver, 34-year-old Jonathan D. Wilson, had been cited by Weaver for driving with a suspended license on Feb. 13. Upon approach, Weaver detected the odor of marijuana. Wilson admitted smoking pot earlier but said there was nothing but a set of scales in the car. A check re vealed his license was suspended and he went to jail for suspended license and a seatbelt violation. The Honda was impounded. On May 9, Dep. Weaver was dispatched to a single vehicle accident in the 500 block of Five Points Road. At the scene, lan R. Browning, 21, introduced himself as a friend of the driver involved in the crash and said they had been drinking and that was why he was following his friend to Griffin. Witnesses told Weaver that Browning had removed some items from the wrecked vehicle prior to his arrival. When questioned, Browning admitted he removed nine vape cartridges containing THC oil. He said he did so because his friend already had a felony charge pending. Browning went to jail charged with two felonies: possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. On May 10, Sgt. Wayman Henson was patrolling northbound on Ga. Hwy. 7 when he spotted a silver Kia Forte with a tail light out and stopped it. The driver, Jonathon N. Stanley, 21, presented a paper license. Henson detected the odor of marijuana and Stanley said he and the passenger, 19-year-old Hannah A. Duke, had smoked earlier. During a pat down search, a prison ID was found in Stanley’s pocket and he admitted he was on parole. He then recanted and said he had not smoked mari juana. Duke said she hadn’t smoked marijuana but had been around someone smoking earlier. Backup arrived and a probable cause search was done. In a purse behind the passenger seat, a bag of suspected meth was found along with a nugget of marijuana wrapped in a cloth. Duke claimed the drugs and was cuffed. She then reported she had some pills in her bra. Sgt. Kathryn Knapp arrived and removed Lortab tablets from Duke’s person. Stanley was cited for brake and tail light violations. Duke went to jail charged with pos session of marijuana, possession of meth and posses sion of a Schedule II controlled substance. On May 5, Sgt. Keith Kendrick got a tip regarding a black male and a white female in a red Cadillac with a flat tire in the parking lot at TJ Outfitters. The tipster reported the male was smoking marijuana in the vehicle. When Kendrick arrived with his badge around his neck, he offered to help the male change the tire. He immediately detected the odor of marijuana. The in side of the Cadillac had been damaged and was full of trash. The male said he needed no help with the tire. Neither of the subjects had IDs on them. The male was identified as Brandon T. Furlow, 31. The female was identified as Shelby L. McGuire, 31. Furlow said the car belonged to his grandmother. Kendrick told the pair he was going to conduct a probable cause search and Furlow then exhibited signs of fleeing or fighting. Kendrick pulled out his taser and both were cuffed without having to be tasered. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies answered 227 calls. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 23 911 calls. Lamar County Fire Fighters responded to 47 911 calls. Barnesville Fire Fighters responded to five 911 calls. Community Ambulance Service responded to 97 calls. There were nine accidents. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies served 18 state warrants. Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies issued 39 traffic citations. A partially smoked blunt was found in Furlow’s shirt pocket. In a book bag inside the car, deputies located three bags of marijuana packaged for sale, a digital scale and a glass meth pipe with meth residue. A check revealed McGuire had active warrants in Upson County. The pair were placed in different patrol cars. Furlow called Kendrick over and told him the drugs were McGuire’s and that she had sold some pot to an older black female just before he arrived at the store. Once at the jail, a search revealed more marijuana in McGuire’s bra. Furlow was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana. McGuire was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects and crossing guard lines with drugs. On May 14, Dep. William Holt was dispatched to 107 Country Kitchen Rd. where a concrete block had fallen off a truck and flattened a tire on a car. On May 14, Dep. Holt met with a woman at the sheriff’s office who felt someone was using her Social Security number. Someone had filed for unemploy ment and applied for a loan using her information. The woman reported $50,000 was missing from her bank account. On May 15, Sgt. Wayman Henson met with a man who said his neighbors’ dogs had been keeping him up all night barking and that this was a long term issue. The man was advised of the county noise ordinance and how to take the matter to magistrate court. On May 17, Dep. Anthony Redding worked a do mestic dispute involving a highly intoxicated female at a home on Morgan Dairy Road. The woman had ap parently mixed alcohol and medication and was taken by EMS to an area hospital. POLICE REPORT Between Monday, May 10 and Sunday, May 16 the Barnesville Police Department made the following arrests: Elijah Jones, 23, 251 Apache Ct., Barnesville, crimi nal trespass; Andrickes Roussaw, 35, 249 Locust St., Milner, disorderly conduct; Kaitlyn Piper, 26, 3310 Henricks Church Rd., Thom aston, probation violation; Christian Werner, 20, 7 Festiva Dr., Newnan, pos session of marijuana, loud music, speeding and no license on person; Nicholas Talbot, 31, 103 Trophy Ridge, Jackson, DUI, driving while license suspended, open container and no tail lights. They answered 104 calls for service including: two animal complaints, 20 security checks, three thefts, two loud music, one welfare check, nine domestics, one armed robbery, 13 suspicious persons/vehicles, eight accidents, one intoxicated driver, six escorts, five alarms and one mental subject. They issued 25 citations.
