LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period June
18-29.
On June 18, Sgt. Adam Rowell was dispatched to
145 Dumas Rd. A caller named Laura reported a male
had broken both knees of her friend Angel. Deputies
arrived to find Angelique Baldwin, 50, who said John
Hanley had put a gun to her head and struck her in
the head and one knee following an argument about
him cheating on her.
While deputies were speaking with Baldwin, Hanley
drove by in a black SUV. He was arrested nearby for
suspended license. Rowell kept talking with Baldwin
who kept changing her story. She had trouble focus
ing and appeared to be on drugs. She replied she
used marijuana and was on parole for drugs. She gave
permission to search her belongings.
Sgt. Jeremy Haire found meth in a cigarette case.
Baldwin said the case did not belong to her but it
contained a bank card in her name. She went to jail
charged with possession of meth. She also had con
tempt warrants pending in Forest Park.
On June 20, Dep. Barclay Banta was dispatched to
Askew Well Drilling at 1041 Old Hwy. 41 where some
one had damaged a gate.
On June 20, Dep. Justyn Weaver was dispatched
to the area of Ga. Hwy. 7 and Zebulon Road regarding
a one-vehicle accident. The driver, 46-year-old Joseph
White, said he “messed around and dozed off” while
driving his 1992 Buick Roadmaster. Weaver detected
the odor of alcohol on White who said he had been to
Jonesboro to a rap show his son was in. He admitted
to consuming “a little alcohol”.
White was unable to stay on topic in conversation
and tested positive for alcohol in a roadside test. At
the jail, he blew a .131 and a .143. White went to jail
charged with two counts DUI, reckless driving, failure
to maintain lane, driving on the wrong side of the
road, driving too fast for conditions and failure to
exercise due care.
On June 21, Dep. Coleman Conner was dispatched
to 365 Grove St. regarding an unresponsive male.
James Hosley was found dead. The scene was turned
over to the coroner.
On June 22, Sgt. Wayman Henson broke up a
dispute at Apt. 121 at Milner Creek Apartments which
involved Brittany A. Jones, 21; Isaiah D. Berry, 21; and
Chastity K. Berry, 20. Jones retrieved some belong
ings and left with Chastity Berry.
On June 21, Dep. Anthony Reddick was patrolling
the Barnesville Avenue area when he spotted a grey
Toyota with no tag light and stopped it on Church
Street. The driver, 58-year-old Teresa C. Rodda, was
very nervous and sweating. She admitted she had no
license and got arrested for driving without a license
a few months ago.
Rodda said there was nothing illegal in her car
and gave permission to search. On the ground by the
door was a bag of meth. Another bag and a meth pipe
were found in the car. Rodda admitted she had just
bought a bag for herself and another for a friend who
lives on Church Street. Rodda went to jail charged
with possession of meth, sale of meth, expired regis
tration, possession of drug related objects, expired
license and a tag light violation.
On June 22, Sgt. Wayman Henson worked a do
mestic dispute at a home at 120 Main St. in Milner
involving a brother and sister. Eaven C. Veal, 17, went
to jail charged with battery and hindering a 911 call.
On June 21, Sgt. Henson was dispatched to 462
Trice Rd., Lot 33 where a woman had been bitten by a
neighbor’s chihuahua. Animal control was called in.
On June 21, Dep. William Holt was dispatched to
761 Brook Rd. where three checks had been taken
from a truck.
On June 22, Sgt. Bossie Davis worked a possible
suicide attempt at a home on Bulldog Court.
On June 26, Sgt. Davis worked a purchase dispute
at Buggytown Auction.
On June 26, Dep. Banta was dispatched to a home
at 226 Howard Road where the resident’s dog had at
tacked a landscaper working in the yard. The dog was
up-to-date on its shots.
On June 27, Sgt. Davis met a group of people at
the sheriff’s office regarding a harassing communica
tions issue.
On June 27, Sgt. Davis worked a traffic accident on
High Falls Park Road where a man hit a cow while rid
ing a motorcycle. The bike was lightly damaged. The
rider and cow escaped serious injury.
On June 28, Dep. Holt worked the case of a miss
ing trailer at 1555 Van Buren Rd. The trailer had been
rented from Sunbelt Rentals.
On June 28, Dep. Weaver was observing traffic on
Johnstonville Road at Harmony Hill Ranch Road when
he spotted an erratically driven Chevy Silverado and
stopped it. The driver, Robert S. Noles, 46, said he fell
asleep while driving. Insurance on the truck had been
canceled due to lack of payment. Noles was cited for
no insurance and failure to maintain lane and left the
scene on foot. The truck was impounded.
On June 28, Lt. Newman worked another case of
animals sold at auction but not paid for. A man wrote
a check for the animals but later canceled it but kept
the animals.
