DEATH NOTICES Obituaries are published as received Debra Hunter Burney Mrs. Debra Hunter Burney 58, formerly of Barnes- ville transitioned at her residence in Macon. Memo rial services were held Saturday, July 17, 11:00 a.m. in the E. P. Roberts Center. Pastor Donald Hamilton delivered the Words of Comfort. Visitation was held Friday, July 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. Professional services have been entrusted to Trice Funeral Home Inc. of Barnesville. Debra is survived by her husband John Burney of Macon; mother Mrs. Mary (James) Fyons of Barnesville; a loving son Mr. Curtis (Renee) Under wood of Thomaston; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Mrs. Renee (Kelly) Thrash of Mid- dleberg Florida, Mrs. Victoria (Phillip) Doss of Focust Grove, Mrs. Tammy (Marty) Folsom of Barnesville, Ms. Denice Napier and Mrs. Sharon (Victor) Gotten, all of Barnesville; one brother Mr. Donnie (Calandra) Hunter of Forsyth and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Virginia Bankston Clark Virginia Bankston Clark, 100, formerly of Covington and Atlanta, died July 11, 2021, at the Oaks Senior hiving in Hoschton, GA. She was the daughter and oldest child of the late Ellen Dewberry Bankston and Walton Holland Bankston of Barnesville, GA. She was also predeceased by her husband, Paul Maddox Clark as well as brother W.H. Bankston, Jr., sister Sadie Bankston Flanigan and nephew Thomas Bankston. Among her survivors are nephew W.H. Bankston, 111; nieces Patricia Flanigan Geis and Jane Ann Bankston Blessey; and stepson, Paul Clark, Jr.; as well as great nieces and a great nephew and her hus band’s grandchildren. A private graveside service was held at the family plot at Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville, GA. Williams-Westbury Funeral Home, 526 College Drive, Barnesville, Georgia is serving the Clark family. Shara T. Fletcher Mrs. Shara T. Fletcher 63, of Ingram Road Barnes ville transitioned on Tuesday, July 13 in the Upson Regional Medical Center. Celebration of life services will be held Tuesday July 20, 2021 at 12 noon in the Pine Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Rocky Mount UMC Cemetery. Rev. James Goolsby will officiate. Joe Fleming "Pinky” Johnston Mr. Joe Fleming “Pinky” Johnston, age 63, of Barnesville, passed away July 10, 2021, at his home. He was born in Barnesville, son of the late James Wiley Johnston and Julia Maude Snow Johnston. Joe was a 1976 graduate of Famar Comprehensive High School, and was currently the Shop Manager at Fast Fane Fast Fube in Zebulon where he had worked since 2010. Joe was a collector and enjoyed working on old cars and feeding and watching his humming birds. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Anita and Bobby Caldwell of Barnesville and Wylene and Russell Collins of Barnesville; brothers and a sister-in-law: James “Sonny” and Deborah Johnston of Barnesville and Freddie Johnston of The Rock; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville. Mr. Paul Kunst and Mr. Danny Vaughn will officiate. Ads build businesses 770.358.NEWS William Stanley "Hambone” Hamrick Mr. William Stanley “Hambone” Hamrick, age 63, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Eternal Hope Hospice. Mr. Hamrick was born on Sunday, February 2,1958 in Griffin, Georgia to William Hamrick, Jr. and the late June Opal Taylor Hamrick. Hambone was the owner of Hamrick’s Pawn Shop and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville. He was the care taker for Dr. & Mrs. Wolf - Deiter Kessler for 40 years. Hambone is survived by his wife, April Hamrick; father, William Hamrick, Jr. brother, Alfred Daniel Hamrick; one niece, one nephew, several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. His Lady Dragons finished the 2021 season with a record of 10-1 -1, went undefeated in region play and won the Class A state title. Little Miss Poe James and Anna Poe of St. Simons Island are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Louisa Fran ces, on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 12 noon at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick. Louisa weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21 inches long at birth. She joins a brother, Wilson, two-years-old, at home.
