LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports com
pleted by Lamar deputies during the period of July 14
and July 20.
On July 15, just after 11 a.m. Lt. Shane Moore was
dispatched to a home on Highway 341 south where
the property owner reported that his John Deere Ga
tor, camouflage in color, had been missing. It was last
seen two days prior and tire tracks were visible going
through his field and into the woods toward a neigh
boring property. The UTV was placed on the Georgia
Crime Information Center as stolen.
On July 15, at 11:40 a.m., deputy Jonathan Ham
rick responded to a call from Pelsis/B&G 135 Region
South Drive for an incident the previous day in which
an employee’s wife tried to run him over with her
vehicle outside the business after an argument took
place between them. The human resources officer at
the business said the employee did not want to press
charges but the company wanted to have the incident
on record. Deputy Hamrick was shown security video
that showed the wife backing into her husband’s
truck.
On July 16, around 1 p.m. deputy Justyn Weaver
was dispatched to a home on Rogers Circle about
damage to a mailbox. He said it appeared the plastic
mailbox had been struck by a vehicle.
On July 16, around 1:30 p.m. deputy Weaver
responded to a call at a home on Yatesville Rd. in
reference to a harassment case. A man stated he was
being harassed by his ex-girlfriend who drives by the
property and yells vulgarities several times a day. He
also said she changed his Facebook login information
and was contacting people as if it was him. The man
was referred to the magistrate court to begin a self
warrant application warrant.
On July 17, around 3 p.m., deputy Patrick Saunders
was on general patrol when he saw a vehicle travel
ing north down Highway GA 7 with no tail lights.
After initiating a traffic stop with emergency lights, he

contacted the driver Raymond Thrash who said he
forgot his wallet and didn’t have his driver’s license.
Through dispatch it was determined the license was
suspended and Thrash was arrested.
On July 20, just before 11 p.m., deputy William
Holt responded to a call about a burglary at Union-
ville Methodist Church on High Falls Park Road.
Pastor Wilma Hastings was present and said there
was a flower pot upside down on the side of the build
ing next to a broken window. Deputy Holt observed
items thrown about in an inside room, every cabinet
and closet was open and ransacked with ripped up
items in front of the church’s stage. The keyboard,
sound system and camera system were all moved
to the kitchen and a TV from the kitchen was miss
ing. Drinks were opened and thrown in a box in the
kitchen and all the drawers and cabinets were open
as well as coffee having been made and an open bag
of sugar on the counter. A ladder was apparently used
to look in the attic and the drum set on the stage was
taken apart and moved around. There was writing
in two different places that said, “Lord Help Me” and
“Help Me or Kill Me.” An outside building was also
broken into but Pastor Hastings said it didn’t look as
though anything was tampered with. The box for the
camera system was submitted to law enforcement.
On July 20, just before midnight, Sgt. B. Davis was
dispatched to a home on Hwy. 41, Lot 36 after some
one shot at her home. The resident said her family
had just returned from vacation and noticed a hole
in the wall of their trailer and assumed it was a bullet
hole after seeing that another hole was present on
the outside of the house. She was concerned because
the bullet went through the bedroom to the opposite
wall, through two shirts hanging up and exited the
back of the trailer. A neighbor was asked if she knew
of shootings in the area and she stated that it was her
brother who shot a gun. The home occupant said she
wants to make sure it doesn’t happen again because
she does not want her children or family to be hurt.
