THE HERALD GAZETTE/WALTER GEIGER
Two taken to hospital after brutal crash
First responders and passersby attend to the injured at the
scene of a high-impact crash July 28 at the intersection of Sil
ver Dollar and Liberty Hill roads. According to the state patrol,
Teresa Lynn Brooks, 56, of 139 Anderson Rd., Griffin was driv
ing a 2020 Jeep Cherokee southbound on Silver Dollar Road
when she ran the stop sign at Liberty Hill Road at 5:25 p.m.
The Jeep hit a medical supply van owned by David’s Drugs
of Griffin that was traveling west on Liberty Hill Road, causing
it to rotate counterclockwise and strike a third vehicle. The
van, which overturned, was driven by Austin Terrell Adams, 25,
of 107 Belleflower Way, Milner. The third vehicle was a 2010
Chevy Silverado which was eastbound on Liberty Hill Road,
driven by David Bruce Bryant, 53, of 946 Teagle Rd., Jackson.
Brooks and Bryant were taken by ambulance to Wellstar
Spalding Hospital.
Coronavirus cases are reemerging here

have taken the vaccine
that has not been ap
proved by the FDA,”
noted Vining, citing his
father’s death as proof of
severe side effects.
Bob Murdy was on the
other side of the argu
ment. “I was first in line
to sign up for the vaccine
as soon as my age group
was approved. I firmly
believe vaccinations are
important to eradicate
this deadly disease and 1
very much dislike anyone
who claims the vaccines
are an attempt by the
government to install
tracking chips in us,”
Murdy said.
Laura Hayes is also
among the vaccinated.
“1 felt that, at
my age, it was
the right thing
to do,” Hayes
said.
Masks
and mask
requirements
touched a raw
nerve with
those who
responded. Only Murdy
still wears a mask when
he goes out in public and
claims he will continue to
do so until 50% of Geor
gians are vaccinated.
“When we hit 50% then 1
will feel okay about going
maskless. 1 still wash
down anything 1 bring
home. 1 carry hand sani
tizer with me and, when
we were in quarantine,
1 followed the rules and
stayed in,”
Murdy said.
Moore
reported he
goes without
a mask, citing
their ineffec
tiveness and
the dangers of
wearing them.
Warren
was more vocal. “1 have
never worn a mask un
less 1 was in a business
that required it. Masks
are a typical CDC/gov-
ernmental scare tactic.
Why should any citizen
do what any Biden-led
administration recom
mends? He is senile,”
Warren said.
“My wife and 1 have
never worn masks and
never will. My wife is a
nurse and we know that
masks do little or nothing
to stop the spread of this
virus,” Vining added.
Carla Beckom had a
sound reason for not
wearing face coverings.
She and her husband
have both had the virus.
“1 think we have achieved
full immunity from both
having the virus and be
ing fully vaccinated,” she
said.
Though the topic
was not included in the
survey, those who wear
masks while alone out
side or in their vehicles
drew a lot of criticism.
One unidentified respon
dent summed up the sen
timent, saying, “1 mean,
really. What is wrong
with those people?”
