LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period July
21-27, 2021.
On July 21, Cpl. Hope Thompson met with a wom
an at the sheriff’s office about possible bank fraud
stemming from conversations with people purporting
to be with CitiBank.
On July 21, Dep. Ashley Johnson met with a man
who reported his ex-wife e-mailed a video showing
him in the nude to all his coworkers. A war of words
was also involved. The man was referred to magis
trate court.
On July 21, Cpl. Thompson met with a man at the
sheriff’s office regarding harassing communications
and threats.
On July 23, Sgt. Wayman Henson stopped a green
Chevy Cavalier because the driver was riding the
bumper on the vehicle in front of it for an extended
period. The car pulled into a driveway on Howard
Road and three female juveniles exited the car. Hen
son recognized the driver, Jennifer Walker, 26, whom
he had cited for no child restraint a month previous.
Walker got loud and complained she was being
’targeted’ by deputies. She said she was dropping
her kids off at her grandmother’s house because she
knew she was going to jail. She admitted her license
was suspended and, in fact, it was. Walker was ar
rested for following too close and suspended license.
On July 23, Dep. Anthony Redding worked a home
invasion at a residence on Norris Road. The victim
said 27-year-old Courtney Piper pushed her way into
the home and fought with a female resident, overpow
ering her. Piper then locked herself in a bedroom with
two children.
Dep. William Holt arrived as backup and the depu
ties had to kick down the door to the bedroom after
the resident gave permission. They found Piper on
a bed with her four-year-old son and three-year-old
daughter.
Piper was placed in the back of a patrol car and
started banging her head on the containment cage.
She was jailed on charges of battery against a person
age 65 or older, criminal trespass, obstruction and
cruelty to children.
