Bobbie Marie
Piper Foster
Mrs. Bobbie Marie Piper Foster, 94, died on Mon
day, August 9, 2021 at Upson Medical Center.
Bobbie was born in Griffin, Georgia on September
20, 1926 to the late Henry Dewey
Piper and Ruby Kate Cook Piper.
Bobbie was preceded in death
by her husband, Durward Lee
Foster, her parents, and two
brothers, Wilbur D and William E
Piper (Bill).
Bobbie is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law Dianne,
and Mike Perry; close family
friends, Jim Smith, Virginia and
Katie Janssen; two step-grand-
daughters, three great-granddaughters, two great-
great grandchildren; numerous cousins, friends and
her church family also survive.
Bobbie was a member of the First Baptist Church
of Barnesville, the “Mary” Sunday school class, First
Baptist Young at Heart, and Novel Women’s Book
Club. As well as a past member of Sassy Sister’s Red
Hats Organization and the Lamar County Republican
Party.
A graveside funeral service will be on Tuesday, Au
gust 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lamar Memory Gardens
with Reverend Garth Forster officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memori
al contributions be made to The First Baptist Church
of Barnesville or the Barnesville Lamar County
Library.

Barry Jones
Glenda Jean Espana
Glenda Jean Espana, aged 78 from Griffin, GA
passed away on August 8, 2021. Born into a Christian
family, her parents were Joe Griffin and Nettie Ruth
Lifsey. Glenda graduated from
Griffin High School and attended
Tift College graduating with a
degree in English.
After teaching for two years,
she went to work for Delta
Airlines in revenue accounting.
She retired as supervisor after 30
years of service. Glenda’s second
career was at Kennesaw State
University where she worked in
the registrar’s office as a Veteran
Certifying Official retiring in December 2019.
Glenda enjoyed traveling visiting approximately 25
countries. She enjoyed being with family, especially
her two grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna.
She loved the beach, her favorites were Nice,
France, Benidorm, Spain and best but not least
Panama City Beach, Florida where she loved to eat at
the Grand Marlin and Finns. Her Nook was a compan
ion of hers as she loved to read. She was a member of
Indian Hills Country Club.
Glenda became a Christian at an early age and
stayed the path through her life. She enjoyed reading
the bible, especially studying the book of Revela
tions. Besides going on a mission trip, her main wit
nessing* were the gifts of hospitality and generosity.
Favorite charities were Compassion International and
The Navigators.
She is survived by Julio, husband; JD, son; Me
linda, daughter in-law; Anna and Benjamin, grandchil
dren; Barbara and Dallas Haire, sister and brother
in-law; and Betty Joe Merritt, sister.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August
18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church,
955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA 30068.
Mr. Barry Jones, age 56, of Barnesville, Georgia,
passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Upson
Regional Medical Center.
Barry was born on Sunday, October 4, 1964 in
Macon, Georgia to the late Don
Jones & Mary Fussell Jones. Barry
was loved by his work family
at Hoshizaki in Griffin where he
worked for the past three years.
Barry was a big part of his and
his wife’s business, Brinkley’s
Day Care Center in Barnesville.
Barry was a longtime member of
Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he
served as song leader. He enjoyed
ministering the gospel to his pre-
teen Sunday school class.
Barry is survived by his wife of 21 years, JoAnne
Jones, daughter; Ashley Jones, step-sons; Jonathan
and Jeremy Fortner, brother Clayton Jones and
sisters-in-law Jean Brinkley and Angie Jones, sister
and brother-in-law; Anne and Bob Rice, grandchil
dren; Brayden Baldwin, Gracie Baldwin and Jaxson
Thomas of Chattanooga, Gabe Fortner, Noah Fortner,
Lincoln Fortner, Madison Fortner, Mariana Fortner
and Mallory Fortner of Barnesville; a host of nieces
and nephews also survive.
A graveside funeral service for Mr. Barry Jones
was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Mt.
Zion Baptist Church.

Rev. Craig Ogletree transitioned on Monday, Au
gust 9, 2021 in the Piedmont Henry Medical Center.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 14,
2021 at 12 noon in the Lamar County Fine Arts Center.
Rev. Jimmy Lyons officiated and
interment was held in the Bethel
Baptist Church Cemetery. Visita
tion was held Friday, August 13
from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fine Arts
Center. Trice Funeral Home Inc.
of Barnesville is in charge of all
professional services.
Craig leaves a legacy that will
live on in the hearts of his loving
wife, Mrs. Sherrelle D. Ogletree;
his mother, Mrs. Mary W. Ogle
tree both of Barnesville; three
children, Mr. Austin E. Ogletree
of Los Angeles, California, Mr. Dallas C. Ogletree of
Knoxville, Tennessee and Miss Olivia L. Ogletree of
Barnesville.; three sisters, Mrs. Carilyn Lawrence
of Milner, Rev. Dr. Kathy (Alvin) Goodwin of Louis
ville, Kentucky and Mrs. Joanne (Perry Jr.) Walker
of Barnesville; three brothers, Deacon Carl (Imgard)
Ogletree, Mr. Charles (Gloria) Ogletree, and Deacon
Bernard Ogletree all of Barnesville; a host of great
aunts, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, class
mates and many dear friends whom all will cherish
his memory.

On Wednesday, August 18,
2021 Iva Louise Wilkinson
will celebrate her 91st birth
day. She moved to Barnes
ville when she was five years
old. She attends Lilia Baptist
Church. Her advice on life is
“clean living and trusting in
the Lord.”
