POLICE REPORT
LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period Aug.
5-Aug. 10:
On Aug. 5, Dep. Justyn Weaver was monitoring
traffic on Old Hwy. 41 near Woodall Lumber when he
observed a white motorcycle pass two vehicles in a
curve. He gave chase and stopped the 2012 Honda
1000RR near Phillip Weldon Rd. The driver, 49-year-
old Mark A. Wells, did not have a motorcycle license.
He went to jail and the bike was turned over to his
son.
On Aug. 6, Cpl. Hope Thompson met with a woman
at the jail about a gun she felt had been stolen by
her former fiancee. The gun was placed on the GCIC
watch list.
On Aug. 7, Sgt. Bossie Davis worked a domestic
dispute involving a woman, her mother and sister at
a home on Hwy. 41 North. The melee started over one
woman moving furniture around and ended with an
other trying to bust out a car window with a concrete
block.
On Aug. 6, Dep. Coleman Conner worked a nui
sance animal call on Parker Branch Road. A horse
was running loose in the area. The horse fled into the
woods and could not be located.
On Aug. 7, Lt. Shane Moore worked a disturbance
on a hunting lease on Liberty Hill Road near Steele
Road. Two men had blocked in a truck they found on
the property. The driver of the truck argued the land
was for sale and he had permission to look at it as he
was thinking about buying it. All three finally agreed it
was a misunderstanding.
On Aug. 9, Dep. Weaver located a 2004 Jeep Es
cape on Ga. Hwy. 7 near Fellowship Drive that was on
GCIC as stolen. The listed owner of the vehicle, was
contacted and said she had located the vehicle earlier
and reported it found but no evidence of that could
be located. Weaver left the vehicle on the side of the
road for the owner to handle since it did not pose a
traffic hazard.
On Aug. 9, Dep. Weaver was stationary at the cor
ner of Morgan Dairy and Barnesville roads checking
registrations with his equipment when a black 2010
Tahoe came back to a man who had warrants out
standing in Clayton County. He observed the vehicle
cross the centerline then stopped it. Dispatch con
firmed the warrant on the driver, 49-year-old Walter L.
Williams, who went to jail. Williams’ elderly mother,
who was in the SUV, was given a courtesy ride to her
home. The Tahoe was impounded.
On Aug. 9, at 12:09 a.m., Dep. Destiny Valenzuela
worked the theft of a bicycle from a shed at a home
on Ramah Church Road. The bike was described as a
Specialized Elite. A helmet was also missing.
On Aug. 10, at 12:32 a.m., Dep. Valenzuela was dis
patched to a home on Old Hwy. 41 regarding threat
ening text messages. A man reported his juvenile
daughter and her boyfriend had been threatened by a
juvenile male who said he would shoot them both.
On Aug. 10, Dep. Weaver worked a dispute be
tween a homeowner and appliance repairman on
Etheridge Mill Rd. The homeowner alleged the repair
man cut two copper lines to a malfunctioning refrig
erator, worsening the problem.

Project
Child Find
A Free Referral Service
In accordance with IDEA regulations, the Lamar
County School system seeks to ensure that all
disabled students (ages 3-21) who are in need
of special education within its jurisdiction are
identified, located, and evaluated, including those
attending private school and home school. Final
identification of students with disabilities and
programming for such students occurs only after
an appropriate evaluation and a determination by
a Multidisciplinary Placement Team.
If the "child find" process indicates that a student
may require special education and supportive
services in order to benefit from regular educa
tion, the student shall be referred to the Multi
disciplinary Placement Team to determine the
student's eligibility for special education services.
If you know a child with a disability that is
not being served, please notify:
