Diana Buchanan
Borders
Ms. Dianna Buchanan Borders went to be with the
Lord on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Upson Region
al Hospital in Thomaston.
Dianna was born on Friday, September 12, 1952 to
parents Aubrey C. Buchanan and Elvie Jean Savage
in Meridian, Mississippi. She
loved her family, her coun
try, and the Atlanta Braves.
Dianna enjoyed looking at
antiques, cooking, and had a
heart for animals. Dianna was
a longtime member of First
Baptist Church in Barnesville
and was a wonderful artist.
Dianna is preceded in
death by her father, Aubrey C.
Buchanan; son, Cliff Borders;
and grandson, Seth Borders.
Those left to cherish the memory of Dianna is her
daughter, Michelle Borders; mother, Jean Buchanan;
life partner, Kenneth Johnson (and family); grandchil
dren, lan Ali, Kendall Borders, Zack Borders, Anna
Grace Borders, and Logan Borders; brothers, Richard
Buchanan (Pam), and John Buchanan (Lisa); sister,
Regina Gordon (Wayne); and a host of extended fam
ily that will also cherish her memory.
A memorial service for Ms. Dianna Buchanan
Borders was held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021
at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church
of Barnesville with Rev. Garth Forster and Rev. Jason
Teal officiating the service. The family greeted friends
and loved ones one hour prior to the service at the
church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be
made to the First Baptist Church of Barnesville, 200
Zebulon Street, Barnesville, Ga., 30204.

Monroe Lawson
Farmer
Mr. Monroe Lawson Farmer, age 83, of Barnesville,
went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8,
2021 at his home.
Lawson was born on Thursday, December 2, 1937,
to his father and mother Rosa Matilda. Mr. Lawson
is preceded in death by his
mother, Rosa Matilda Lawson.
He served 53 years as Vice
President of Carters Manu
facturing Department. Mr.
Lawson was an avid golfer; he
also enjoyed his time travel
ing and was known as “one
of a kind” by his family and
friends.
Those left to cherish the
memory of Lawson is his wife
of 60 years, Hilda Farmer,
children and their spouses; Mark Farmer (Lane),
Mike Farmer, Karmen Chambless (Clay), grandchil
dren; Morgan Justice, Macy Bryan (Luke), Hardin
Chambless, Haddie Chambless, great-grandchildren;
Ellie Justice, Ava Justice, Madelyn Bryan. A host of
extended family also survive.
A memorial service for Mr. Monroe Lawson Farmer
was held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 2:00
p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of
Barnesville with Pastor Jon Beck officiating the ser
vice. The family greeted friends and loved ones one
hour prior to the service at the church.

made to the First Baptist Church of Barnesville, 200
Zebulon Street, Barnesville, Ga., 30204 or a favorite

LC school board lauded

again earned recognition as a quality school board

Cooper James Woodall
Tal and Tanner Woodall of Chamblee, GA are proud
to announce the birth of their daughter, Cooper
James, on Nov. 5, 2021 at Northside Hospital.
She weighed eight pounds, three ounces and was
20 1/2 inches long at birth.
