FAITH & VALUES
New head pastor Rev. Mark A. Henson and his wife Shirley Henson were
welcomed to Barnesville Nazarene Church during a special service Sunday, Nov.
7 with a dinner served after the service in the Family Life Center.
Barnesville Nazarene
welcomes new pastor
At a special called
congregational meeting,
Sunday, Sept. 26, Barnes
ville Nazarene Church
voted to invite and
welcome Reverend Mark
A. Henson as its new
senior pastor, an invita
tion pastor Mark joyfully
accepted. Pastor Henson
has pastored churches in
Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas
and Mississippi.
Pastor Mark is an avid
outdoorsman and sports
man. He loves cycling,
triathlons, marathons,
hunting, fishing, golfing,
archery, bowling, wa
ter skiing, snow skiing,
BBQ, Chinese Food and
Rook (not necessarily
in that order). But most
of all, pastor Mark loves
people.
Pastor Mark’s bride of
42 years serves alongside
her husband and has led
nearly every ministry
in the church over their
32 years as serving the
Church of the Nazarene.
Shirley enjoys garage
sales, shopping, needle
point, playing board
games and her grand
kids. Shirley believes she
was called of God to be
a pastor wife. She loves
God with all her heart,
loves people, and loves
the church.
The Hensons first day
at the church was on
Sunday, Nov. 7 and the
church also hosted mis
sionaries from Zambia
who gave their testimony
about how God is work
ing there.
