THE HERALD GAZETTE/WALTER GEIGER
Buggy factory and its nemesis
One of the antique cars in Satruday’s Buggy Days parade
passes by the former showroom for the Smith Buggy Com
pany founded by Jackson G. Smith. Barnesville was known as
the Buggy Capital of the South until the horseless carriage
arrived on the scene and made buggies obsolete.
Smiling majorette
The Marching Trojan Band put on a show for those attend
ing the Buggy Days parade Saturday afternoon. The band
could be heard throughout the town as the percussion unit
hammered out the beat.
Senior majorette Zykia Bloodser was all smiles as she
marched with the band.
