LC Elementary School May Students of the Month
Marjorie
McDaniel Andrews
Marjorie McDaniel Andrews, 94 of Barnesville, GA
passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at her residence.
A native of Ogelthorpe, GA Mrs. Andrews was
born on Saturday, May 17, 1929, daughter of the late
Ethel Drake McDaniel and George D. McDaniel. She
had been a resident of Barnesville most of her life and
prior to retirement was a seamstress for the Carter
Compfany and a homemaker. She was a woman of
deep faith and a member of the First Pentecostal
Church where she was active in the choir and all
activities. She was an accomplished cook and baker
and enjoyed crocheting afghans and quiltmaking.
Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband Franklin Andrews, and siblings Howard
McDaniel, Winnie Taylor, Otis McDaniel, Billy McDan
iel, Christine Zellner and Betty Adamson and Marvin
McDaniel. Mrs. Andrews is survived by her children
Gene Williams, Barbara Powell, Dennis Williams,
Richard Williams; 10 grandchildren and several great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in the chapel
of Williams-Westbury Funeral Home with Reverend
FeRoy Brock officiating. Interment followed in Green
wood Cemetery. The family received friends Thurs
day from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral
home.

Laura Cotterman Guy
Faura Cotterman Guy, 51, of Griffin, GA passed
away Saturday evening, June 3, 2023, at the Eternal
Hope Hospice.
Laura was born in Hialeah Florida Thursday, De
daughter of Katherine Morgan Cot
terman and the late Francis “Pete”
Cotterman. She held a certificate
in accounting but engaged in the
worthiest and rewarding work of
raising her children and making
a home for her family. Faura was
a loving wife, mother, and sister
and enjoyed sewing and photogra
phy. She loved nature, especially
owls and hummingbirds. To quote
Faura: “The best thing 1 have ever
done in my life is become a Christian, marry the man
1 love, and become a mother,’ Faura was preceded in
death by her father Francis “Pete” Cotterman and a
daughter Morgan Guy.
Surviving Faura are her husband, Phillip Guy, to
whom she was married June 16, 1993; mother Kath
erine Cotterman; four sons Fyle, Ryan, Ethan, and J.T.
Guy; two sisters Kristi Peavy and her twin Iona Rich
ardson; two brothers Bobby and Scott Cotterman;
two nieces and several nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Faura were conducted at 11
a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Milner Baptist
Church with Reverend Brad Ellington officiating.
Interment services were conducted at 4 p.m. Wednes
day at the lrwinville Cemetery, lrwinville GA. The fam
ily received friends at the church Wednesday from
10 until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribu
tions may be made to Eternal Hope Hospice, 123 n.
18th Street, Griffin, GA 30223.

transitioned on Sunday June 4,
2023. Funeral services with full
military honors were held at
Whites Chapel C.M.E. Church
Barnesville, Georgia. Pastor Kevin
Young was the officiant and inter
ment was held in the Greenwood
Cemetery. Visitation with the
family was held on Friday, June
9 beginning at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30
p.m. Trice Funeral Home Inc. of
Barnesville has been entrusted with all professional
services.
Ember Gray Adams
Miss Ember Gray Adams age 3 of Talbotton Ga,
passed away Wednesday June 7, 2023.
Ember was born on April 6, 2020 in Macon Ga.,
to Allan Adams Jr., and Jacey Tidwell Adams. She
attended Small World Daycare
and was taking swimming lessons
with Allison Uphold. She was a
member of Thomaston First Bap
tist Church and the Armstrong
School of Dance. Ember enjoyed
gymnastics, playing baseball with
her brother and was his biggest
cheerleader. She loved playing
with her cousins, loved the out
doors, bananas, popsicles, and
play-doh. She also enjoyed participating in the Buggy
Days Pageant. Ember was preceded in death by her
paternal grandfather Allan Adams and loved great
grandparents.
Survivors include her parents Allan and Jacey
Adams of Talbotton Ga, brother Allan Thomas Adams
III of Talbotton Ga, maternal grandparents Barry and
Jory Tidwell of Yatesville Ga, paternal grandmother
Debra Adams and Gary Ellington of Talbotton Ga,
cousins Raelyn Adams, Fillian Adams, Brooklyn
Fawler, Fivie Vaughn, Jossy Vaughn, numerous aunts
and uncles also survive.
The family received friends at Coggins Funeral
Home on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00
p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later
date.
Coggins Funeral Home is in charge of arrange
ments.
