Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period July
5-12, 2023.
On July 9, Milner Police officers and LCSO depu
ties responded to a domestic dispute in which a
female had reportedly been punched in the face and
was being chased by a vehicle as she ran through
the yard on foot. As officers pulled into the yard, the
vehicle, driven by Matthew T. Caraway, was driven
in reverse approximately 200 yards down the curvy,
wooded and “almost impassible” driveway with depu
ties in pursuit. Caraway attempted to flee on foot and
resisted arrest until officers were forced to tase him
twice to subdue him. Caraway said he and the victim
had dated for a few years and she moved in a couple
days ago. He said it was time for her to go but she
refused and he admitted to hitting her and chasing
her with the vehicle to run her off the property. He
was charged with aggravated assault, battery and
obstructing law enforcement officers.
On July 10, Britanie Talley reported $419 in theft
via her United Bank debit card by use of a TEMU app.
On July 12, Dep. Anthony Redding was sitting at
Reliable Mart when he saw a black female get out of
a car and begin to yell and scream and create a scene
at the store. She went inside and then got into the
vehicle and left. Dep. Redding followed and saw the
vehicle pull over on the shoulder and the female get
out and stumbled along the side of the road. Redding
said she was walking into the lane of travel yelling
and cussing at him so she was handcuffed and placed
in the patrol car where she kicked out the windows
one at a time. Once they got to the detention center,
Kainesha Wilson had to be helped out of the vehicle
and then passed out and was unresponsive. She was
checked out by EMS. She was charged with disorderly
conduct.
On July 14, Dep. Benjamin Thiel observed the
driver of a silver Nissan Frontier driving south on
Georgia 7 while drinking a large Bud Ice from the can.
He followed the vehicle and observed changes in
speed and the vehicle swerving and failing to main
tain lane, crossing over the solid white line multiple
times. The driver, Jon Mark Nuckols, 64, admitted he
“had some beers” and was charged with DU1 - Alcohol
.08 or over, DU1 - Alcohol les safe, reckless driving,
failure to maintain lane, expired registration, failure
to maintain insurance and open container of alcohol
in motor vehicle. Nuckols was tested at a .245 on the
Intoxilyzer 9000.
On July 15, Dep. Michael Womack responded to
a call about damage to property at 237 Fellowship
Drive. He observed deep ruts in the grass where a
vehicle had left the road and dragged a mailbox from
110 Deerfield Trace to the property on Fellowship

Drive.
On July 15, Dep. Stephen Justus responded to 379
Industrial Road in reference to a suspicious person
possibly armed with a shotgun. The complainant,
Jessica Dossey, 37, said she saw a white male wear
ing camo clothing and carrying a shotgun in the
woods across from her home. She said she went into
the woods looking for the person and requested an
ambulance due to her anxiety being high and pain in
her stomach. She was taken to the hospital in Monroe
County.
On July 15, Dep. Justus arrived to settle a dispute
over a goat at Buggy Town Auction on Highway 341
after midnight. The owner stated that Kashindi Isaac,
24, paid for a goat he won in an auction but then
refused to pay for a second goat he won at auction.
She said he became verbally abusive to her and staff
when she tried to explain the auction policy that if
someone bids and wins, they must pay for all the
animals before any animal is released to them. Isaac
said he did not have any identification but officer Jus
tus discovered he had warrants out for his arrest in
Clarkston and Braselton, Ga. He and the three friends
with him were issued a criminal trespass warning and
informed that if they return to the auction, they could
be arrested for criminal trespass.
On July 15, Dep. Barclay Banta responded to a
report of an unruly juvenile. The 14-year-old’s mother
was speaking to the boy and he was screaming the
same thing over and over. She informed Dep. Banta
that the boy is autistic and has oppositional defiant
disorder and is bipolar but they could not afford his
medicine longterm. The boy was unresponsive to
Dep. Banta initially but after walking to a yard where
there was a tire swing, he told the officer that he liked
going to the hospital because they give him medicine
and he feels better when he returns home.
On July 16, Dep. Thiel was dispatched to Indus
trial Road in Barnesville where paramedics said a
patient complaining of abdominal pain voluntarily
surrendered what appeared to be a small rock of crys
tallized methamphetamine. The paramedics said the
complainant, Jessica Dossey, 37, was “very bouncy
and fidgety” and went into the house to plug her
phone in before returning with the drugs. Paramedics
stated they had transported Dossey to the hospital
the night before and it was apparent she was having
hallucinations and she said she called 911 at that time
because there was “a blue man in the woods with a
shotgun.” She asked Dep. Thiel to test the substance
due to her being paranoid that someone was trying
to poison her. Dep. Thiel assured her the substance
would be tested and placed her under arrest for pos
session of meth and she was transported to the jail
without incident.
