Miss Leathia Baird and Mr. J. A. Wright were united in holy bonds of sacred wedlock, at 7 o’clock Sunday evening, at the home of bride on Ann street. The marriage ceremony was per formed by Rev. C. W. Durden. The wedding was a very quiet alTair, only a few friends and rel atives of the family being present to witness the marriage. Both of the contracting parties are well and favorably known in this city and have a large circle of friends, and the News-Gazette joins them in wishing the happy couple a most prosperous existence The young bridal couple left Monday morning for Valdosta, where the groom has a lucrative position with a buggy concern, and they will make that their home in the future. A certain old gentleman living out a few miles from Atlanta, and one that only visits the city about once in two or five years, read in the Atlanta Journal that a man from Alpharetta would be at a certain wagon yard on certain days with a drove af nice milk cows for sale. The above gentle man wishing to purchase a fine ! milker, started very early one of j those hot days in July, his desti nation being the certain wagon yard designated in the evening Journal cow ad. After a long and (dusty walk he arrived safe and sound, but just a little worse for I the wear; with his two by two j half red white and blue handker chief he mopped the perspiration from his heated brow and com menced the long wait for the trot ting out the advertised cows. The old gentleman was so amused and entertained by the antics of the little urchins, the rattle and noise of the bigdrays and express wagons and the passing of the immense crowds of people, t.nat he almost forgot who and where he was' until the wagon yard clock point ed to the hour of two. Suddenly recollecting where and whom he was and also that night was fast approaching as he supposed the keeper of the yard he asked if the Alpharetta man had arrived with the cow. The supposed yard-keeper seem ed a 1 it tie surprised and asked what cows? The old gentleman told him about seeing the cow ad in the Journal, and that he had walked a long ways and would like very much to see the cows and be getting on towards home. Why old man what on earth are you talking about? This is the Atlanta Union Car Shed. The old gentleman hurried home very much fearing Judge Broyles, SIOO and six months hammering rock. If Atlanta doesn’t want such mistakes as the above to appear she should stop the selling of milk cows on her public streets, and have painted and hung in a conspi cuous place on the shed: “This is the Atlanta car shed.’’ —Ex HIS LIFK SAVED BY CHAMBKII -I.AIN'S COLIC, CHOLERA AND DIARRHOEA REMEDY. “11.
