Mexican Mustang Liniment is excellent for Rheumatism and ail deep-seated pains. For Sprains and Strains it is useless to apply a liniment that remains on or near the surface. On the contrary, they require something that goes down into the flesh where the trouble is lo cated. That is why Mexican Mustang Liniment is the best thing to use for Sprains anil Strains. It pen etrates at once to where the injury lies, drives out the inflammation and heals the wounded tissues and tendons. Don’t be stingy in using the liniment nor fail to rub it in as thoroughly as the soreness will permit. Mexican Mustang Liniment is a good thing to have on hand when accidents happen. J. W. The clever delightful “Uncle Silas” tells us in- the American Mhresherman that: Giving the devil his due doesn’t hinder him from being a devil still. We should always try to blot out our wrongs, but not expect the other fellow to furnish the blotting paper. We all make good resolutions and most of us allow for the hem and shrinkage. You know the de fendant?” “Know who?” “The defendant —Mr. Joshua Bagg?” “Josh Bagg? I do know him, and I don’t know nothing to the credit of either of ’em, and I don’t think”— “We don’t want to know what you think, madam. Please say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to my questions?” “What questions?” “Do you know Mr. Joshua Bagg?” “Don’t I know ‘im, though? You ask Josh Bagg if he knows me. Ask dim if he knows any thing ‘bout try in’ to cheat a pore widder like me out of $5. Ask”— “Madam, I” “Ask him whose orchard he robbed last, and why he did it in the night. Ask his wife, Betsy Bagg, if she knows anything about slippin’ into a neighbor’s field and milked three cows on the sly. Ask”— “Look here, madam” — “Ask Josh Bagg about that uncle of his that died in prison. Ask him about lettin’ his pore old mother die in the work-house. Ask Betsy about putting a big brick into a lot of butter she sold last spring” — “Madam, I tell you”— “See if Josh Bagg knows any thing about feeding ten head of cattle on all the salt they could eat, and then letting them swill down all the water thej' could hold, just ’fore he drive them into town and sold ’em. See what he’s got to say to that!” “That has nothing to do with the case. I want you to”— “Then there was old Azrael Bagg, own uncle to Josh, kicked out of his native town, and Betsy Bagg’s own brother got ketchcd in a neighbor’s hen-house at mid night. Ask Josh” — “Madam, what do you know about thin case?” “I don’t know a living thing ’bout it, I’m sure Josh Bagg is guilty, whatever it is. The fact is, I’ve owed them Baggses a grudge for the last fifteen years, and I got myself called up on pur pose to get even with ’em, and I feel I’ve done it. —Tit-Bits. Woman Who Died Willed Her Husband to Another. The bare announcement is made that a woman who died recently in New York by will left her husband to another woman who welcomed the legacy, the husband apparent ly accepting this disposition of himself, if not as legal and bind ing, then as agreeable to his senti ments. No details are published, hence there is a wide field for con jecture. In the present defective condition of the statutes the suc cess of such a bequest depends on the consent of the widower and the woman. In any, event the latter, like any other beneficiary of a will, must he free to decline the gift. The Philadelphia Record sug gests that there are cases, how over, in which the law should compel the widower to follow the course prescribed by the defunct, and with this view we heartily agree. When a man marries obviously for money, according to a custom in England and France, he should be considered the prop erty of the wife to be matri monially disposed of as she may see fit. A legal enactment to that effect could not be against public morals, and as for the feelings of the widower nobody need care about them. Usually there is a good C ial of punishment for a man who mar ries chiefly for money, but he has put himself beyond the pale of human sympathy in voluntarily making property of himself. Prop erty he should remain. The editor of a western journal contends that there is absolutely no reasonable excuse for any man to live in a town if he doesn’t like it. If you have no word of com mendation to say for your town, institutions or people, the sooner you emigrate the better for all concerned. You won’t stop the town clock by going away. The bells of the churches will have the same musical ring, the little dogs will play just the same, and the pure air, bright sunshine and spurkling water will have the same health giving properties as if you remained. Speak good for your neighbors, if you can; if you cannot, don’t everlastingly en large on their faults. If you have become thoroughly disgrunt led, move away; go where things suit you. HICK’B.
