JI MALARIA
Invisible
Means bad air, and whether it Enemy to Health
comes from the low lands and
marshes of the country, or the filthy sewers and drain pipes of the citie3
and towns, its effect upon the human system is the same.
These atmospheric poisons are breathed into the lungs and taken up
by the blood, and the foundation of some long, debilitating illness is laid.
Cbills and fever, chronic dyspepsia, torpid and enlarged liver, kidney
troubles, jaundice and biliousness are frequently due to that invisible foe,
Malaria. Noxious gases and unhealthy matter collect in the system because
the liver and kidneys fail to act, and are poured into the blood current until
it becomes so polluted and sluggish that the poisons literally break through
the skin, and carbuncles, boils, abscesses, ulcers and various eruptions of an
indolent character appear, depleting the system, and threatening life itself.
The germs and poisons that so oppress and weaken the body and destroy
the life-giving properties of the blood, rendering it thin and watery, must
be overcome and carried out of the system before the patient can hope to
get rid of Malaria and its effects.
s. S. S. does this and quickly produces an entire
change in the blood, reaching every organ and stimu
\Sv lating them to vigorous, healthy action. S. S. S.
possesses not only purifying but tonic properties,
t jj e general health improves, and the appetite
increases almost from the first dose. There is no Mercury, Potash, Arsenic
or other mineral in S. S. S. It is strictly and entirely a vegetable remedy.
Write us about your case, and our physicians will gladly help you by
their advice to regain your health. Book on blood and skin diseases sent
free. _ rat jrwirx .specific co.. Atuau, 6a

On last Thursday afternoon one
week ago Capt. E. T. Winston re
ceived a message from Capt, Ben
nett of Fort MpPhersou stating
that he would be down OU the fol
lowing morning on his tour of
inspection.
The next morning at 10 “10 a.
m. the gun boxes, lockers, etc.
were inspected after which there
was a formation and each cadet
with his equipment was thoroughly
examined. Parade concluded the
morning exercises.
At 2 o’clock in the afternoon
the Battalion was formed for
Battalion drill which lasted only
a few moments as it began to rain.
The drill was not as good as some
that have been held in the last
month. However it brought forth
praise from the inspecting offi
cer.
There was to be an extended
order drill immediately after Bat
talion but the rain prevented. In
speaking of the drill the Inspector
said he could not say much until
iiis report had been sent in but lie
said he was thoroughly satisfied
with as much as he had seen, lie
had just inspected Bingham, N.
C. and Dahlonega and lie thought
this Battalion was ahead of both
the others.
Not withstanding the fact that
captain was here only a short while
lie made quite an impression on
all and we are glad to be enabled
to say he will be with us Com
mencement as the judge of the
company competitive drills.—

what lie does which expresses tin

Y. M, C. A. OFFICIAL
MAKES G. I. A
VISIT.
On last Monday morning, Mr.
Coyt, of Atlanta, paid our Y. M.
C. A. a visit in the interest of the
National Convention which is to
be held at Asheville, N. C. next
month. Ha gave an interesting
talk as to the wenefits derived front
this convention and then helped
the boys raise thirty dollars
among the members of the Bat
talion. This money is to send a
man to Asheville to attend the
convention.
There is no reason why we should
not send three men to this gather
ing and by the assistance of all
interested in the upbuilding of the
school, for tlii'i is one of the great
est things that can happen for
G. I.—we can send three easy.
We suggest that the town send
one man, the faculty another and
the cadets the third. Everybody
should talk up this matter and
stand by the boys who are inter
ested in such work.
On last Sunday the following
officers were elected for the next
school year:
E. B. Askew, President.
J. S. Hodges, Secretary.
11. I>. Cook, Treasurer.
A better set of young men could
not have been selected for these
places and the Y. M.C. A. should
be congratulated on its success.
