Rev. Wright filled his regular
appointment here Sunday.
Mrs. Lela Turner, of Cedartown,
is visiting her mother, Mrs. Crum
ley who has been sick for some
time past.
Mrs. Mary Mullins and Mrs.
Martha Pritchard, of Bacon, spent
Sunday with relatives at this place.
Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Taylor and
family spent Sunday with rela
tives at Semper.
Mrs. PL Taylor who has been
very ill is somewhat improved.
In all my travels I see the
poorest prospects for a cotton crop
I ever remember seeing at this
time of the year.

Yatesville Happenings.
We have been having such a fine
time in our little city this week,
that if you many readers of this
valuable paper will give me your
attention I will tell you some of
the many things that happened.
The annual Commencement of
the Joseph E. Johnson Institute
began last Sunday. Rev. S. T.
Bentley, of Economy, preached
the commencement sermon to a
very large and appreciative au
audience. On Monday at 7 ;80 p.
m. the pupils of the primary de
partment gave a very creditable
entertainment.
The Graduating Exercises took
place on Tuesday at 10;80 a. m.
Hon. B. L. Tisinger, of Thom
aston, delivering a very interesting
address. And on Tuesday night
the older pupils gave an enter
tainment that was very interest
ing and amusing. Prof. O. L.
Callahan and his excellent corps
of assistant teachers should be
congratulated on having such an
excellent commencement.
Miss Lila Chatfield, of Thom
aston, was the guest of Miss Cora
Brown last Sunday.
Miss Minnie Martin, one of
Musella’s most charming young
ladies, was the much admired guest
of Miss lone Crawford last Sun
day.
Mr. Henry Miller, of Barnes
ville spent Sunday in the city.
Miss Lillie Middlehrooks, an
attractive young lady of Thomas
ton, is the guest of her cousin,
Mbs Annie Middlebrooks.
Among those who came down
from Thomaston Sunday to at
tend the commencement sermon

Fain Johnson, P. D. Stamp, Wal

Dr. J. E. L. Johnson, of Roberta,
spent Sunday in the city with
friends.
Miss Ada Stewart, of Thom
aston, is the guest of Miss Hattie
Brown this week.
Mr. John A. Stewart, of Atlan
ta, spent Sunday in the city.
Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Lewis, of
Macon, are the guests of friends
and relatives here this week.
Mr. Arthur Brown accompanied
by his friend, Mr. Cotton, came
up from Macon Sunday and spent
the day here.
