TAG DAY SATURDAY
Tag Day is to help pay balance
on play ground equipment for our
Grammar school.
The people are urged to buy tags
liberally and cheerfully.
The Parent-Teacher Association
fully realizes that the people are
called on often to help, but there is
not a cause which should appeal so
much to Barnesville people as this
Grammar School Play Ground
equipment.
The city and Gordon Institute
have paid a large part toward this
equipment and the Parent-Teacher
Association has given all the funds
they have on hand. There is still
due $150.00 and the purpose of this
Tag Day is to raise a part of this
balance. Children will sell ihe tags.
Buy them.

IMPRESSIVE SERVICE
FOR RETURNED HERO
There was a very impressive ser
vice at the First Baptist church Wed
nesday afternoon last week in honor
of the returned body of Private El
mo Faulkner, who fell on the fields
of France on November 6, 1918, giv
ing his young life in the cause of
world freedom. He was the son of
Mr. and Mrs. T. Faulkner of Barnes
ville.
The service wfcs conducted by
Rev. J. M. Martin, an intimate friend
of the family, and under whose
preaching the young hero was con
verted before he went into the great
war. It was a pathetic service,
everybody present being in sympathy
with the spirit of the occasion, which
was to show honor to the life of the
brave boy whose body had been re
turned and to express a tender in
terest in the bereft parents and oth
er relatives.
The body was buried in the Green
wood cemetery. The American Le
gion, Bamesville chapter, was in
charge of the arrangements of the
funeral.
