THE expectant mother owes it not only to herself
to prepare for an easier delivery, but to her child
who should be stronger, healthier and more robust thru
her care and intelligence.
What is one of the most important things a mother
to-be should do?
The universal answer from thousands of experienced mothers
is this: The mother-to-be should massage the muscles and
nerves involved in the function of child-bearing, daily, with an
application of Mother’s Friend. Because —
Three generations of mothers record
the virtue of Mother's Friend for not
only allaying distress in advance,
but for assisting nature in assuring
a speedy recovery for the mother.
So thoroughly has Mother's Friend
proven its wonderful efficiency in
thousands of cases, that any expectant
mother who does not employ its use
as directed deprives herself of a power
ful agent for her relief and well-being,
during the period of pending ma
ternity, and of her prospects for an
easier delivery when the eventful
hour arrives.

MRS. F. C. STAMEY
There passed away on the twenty
fifth of March, Nineteen hundred
twenty-two, a beautiful life, whose
memory is still as fresh as the dew
and will be cherished in years to
come.
Mrs. Stamey was born April 26th,
1887, near Zebulon, Ga. She was
married to F. C. Stamey April 26th,
1912, and died of pneumonia March
25th, 1922.
Mrs. Stamey was the only daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. U. L. Taylor. Be
sides the husband, she leaves two
sweet children, a girl and boy nine
and six years of age, a father, moth
er, three brothers, a host of relatives
and friends.
In her girlhood days she attended
school at Gordon Institute at Bames
ville and Bessie Tift College at For
syth. She was converted and joined
the Methodist church while young
and lived a consistent member until
death. She has left as a heritage to
her children and loved ones an ex
ample of a pure and well spent life,
and they miss her for she was a de
voted wife and mother, and such a
sweet, kind, affectionate daughter.
She was like a ray of sunshine in the
home, always ready to greet you with
a smile, but while they grieve at her
going away, Heaven seems nearer
since she is there.
Fincher church has lost a faithful
member, the community a dear, sweet
neighbor, our Missionary Society and
Ladies’ Aid, of which she was secre
tary, a devoted member.
A flower on earth has blossomed,
Until all who have known it hath
said,
This flower is almost perfect,
Surely by God it is fed.
So marked was the character of
the flower,
That all in whose presence it
came,
Have felt a divine guidance—
A guidance in Jesus’ name.
Let us ever in our memory cherish
This dear and Godly flower,
And be led and influenced greatly
By its calm and serene power.
The Woman’s Missionary Society
and Ladies’ Aid of Fincher Methodist
church offer the following resolutions
as a token of their love and esteem:
Resolved, first, That tho’ we deeply
feel and mourn our loss, we are con
fident that this one whose sweet
Christian character has left its stamp
upon our community, has gone to the
home prepared for her by our Savior.
Resolved, second, That we desire
to express our heartfelt sympathy to
the bereaved family and to commend
them unto the loving, tender care of
our God who doeth all things well.
Resolved, third, That a copy of
these resolutions be sent to the be
reaved ones and that they be in
scribed on our minutes, also that a
copy be sent to the Pike County
Journal and the Barnesville News-
Gazette for publication.

Why Suffer from Rheumatism?
Do you know that nine out of every
ten cases of rheumatism are simply
rheumatism of the muscles or chronic
rheumatism, neither of which require
any internal treatment? The pain
may be relieved by applying Cham
berlain’s Liniment, which makes
sleep and rest possible, and that cer
tainly means a great deal to any one
afflicted with rheumatism.

MR. ROSE ACCIDENTALLY
KILLED IN ATLANTA
Entirely through an oversight the
News-Gazette failed to carry a notice
in last week’s issue of the unfortu
nate and very untimely death in an
automobile-street car accident in At
lanta of Mr. A. A. Rose, a former
citizen of Barnesville, son of Mr. E.
W. Rose, who for many years was an
honored citizen of this community.
Mr. Rose, with his wife and an
other gentleman and his wife, was
riding in an automobile when they
had a collision with a street car, all
of them being injured thereby. Mr.
Rose was carried to hospital and it
was not thought that he was seriously
hurt but in a few days he and the
other gentleman both died.
Mr. Rose formerly represented Up
son county in the legislature. He
graduated from Emory College at
Oxford. He had hosts of friends
throughout Georgia who mourn his
unfortunate death.
