Contract has been made with the Miller Brothers Exposition Shows to furnish us entertainment during
FAIR WEEK.
The Miller Brothers Shows travel in a private train of twenty cars, which will be side tracked and un
loaded in Barnesville October Bth. *
Their attractions consist of Trained Animal Show, Plantation Show, Society Circus, Jazbo, Athletic
Show, Snake Show, Ten in One, Five in One, Two Illusions, Whip, Merry=Go-Round, Aerial Swings, Sea
Plane, Ferris Wheel, Two Bands, Forty Concessions.
These shows come to us very highly recommended as to their ability to entertain you and praised for
their moral character.

To the Honorable Mayor and Gentle
men of City Council:
I have the honor to submit here
with my report for the year begin
ning September Bth, 1921, and end
ing September Bth, 1922:
Substation —Transformers, switch
board panels and other apparatus in
good condition; building also in good
order excepting a few window glass
needing replacing. Building should
be wired in accordance to specifica
tions for lighting purposes and light
placed on outside of building.
Pump Station No. I— Repairs have
been made to building to extent of
new roof and two brick walls, which
places same in good condition. Ma
chinery is all in good condition. Re
pairs have been made on one well,
the same giving a considerable in
crease in water. Reservoirs have had
repairs, such as cementing and paint
ing on inside, making them water
proof and sanitary. I recommend
that new concrete sub-bases be
placed under two air compressors at
suitable time as they now have too
much vibration insure regular run
ning, ' also the Platt compressor be
overhauled to extent of new crank
shaft bearings.
Pump Station No. 2— Buildings,
machinery and reservoir all in good
condition. Main reservoir on moun
tain also in good condition and the
same being thoroughly cleaned and
washed out every fifteen days.
Electric Lines- —-The same are-be
ing put in condition from time to
time and are considered fair. Addi
tional street lights have been in
stalled on a number of streets and
others are being considered. Addi
tional lightning arrestors have been
added, also a quantity of new wire
has been placed where needed. Pole
line stands fair with additions being
made regularly. Stock of* material
on hand to insure service is plentiful.
Municipal owned car of this "depart
ment in good running'condition.
Extensions to water line on Lee
street has been made, insuring bet-
ter fire protection, also water line
with 1 % iqch pipe has been laid on
Murphey avenue.

The Civic League, in an effort to
raise funds for their work, are
to sell tickets to Mildred Theatre,
good for the month of October. This
will be something like a “better film
week.” A fine program will be put
on for the entire month. The Civic
League will sl?are in the proceeds
and the public is invited to help these
splendid women and at the same
time enjoy the good picture program.
