THE WORLD'S GREATEST BAKING POWDER
In Memory of Little
William Corry Harrell
On the morning of October 1,
1922, the death angel came in the
home of Mr. and Mrs. 0. B. Harrell
and bore away the sweet spirit of
our darling baby, William Corry, to
that beautiful home not made with
hands.
His stay here on earth was but
a short while l , only seventeen months
and fifteen days. It it so hard to
give up our sweet darling child. His
sweet smiling face will never be
seen here again and never will I feel
his little arms clasp my neck and
hear him say mamma.
Oh how sad and lonely home is
without W. C., but sleep on, precious
child in thy narrow bed till the
resurrection morn, sleep that sweet
blessed sleep from which none shall
wake to weep.
He leaves his mother, father and
one brother to mourn his loss, but
our loss is his heavenly gain.
Another little lamb has >*one
To dwell with Him who gave;
Another little darling babe
Is sheltered in the grave.
God needed one more angel child
Amidst His shining band,
And so He bent with loving smile
And clasped our darling’s hand.
The little crib is empty now;
The little clothes laid by;
A mother's hope, a father’s joy,
In death’s cold arm doth lie.
Go, little pilgrim, to thy home
On yonder blissful shore;
•We miss thee here hut soon we’ll
come
Where thou hast gone before.

He keeps three cows, from which he

He has all the milk and butter that

Mr. and Mrs. Evans have evidently
tried to raise their children in the
proper way, as is illustrated by what
their son, a young man, Mr,' Herman
Evans, is doing. Some months ago
he obtained a job at Aldora Mills.
He has paid his expenses out of the
money he has received there and has
every week put a few dollars in the

not an example worthy of following,
not only by young people but many
old ones as well?

IN MEMORIAM
In the early hours of October 15,
1922, even before the dawning of
the sun on the Sabbath, the day she
loved and held so sacred, Mrs. Susie
Carriker Harvey passed from this
life to the greater and broader life
beyond. Her friends were deeply
saddened by her going, although it
cannot be said that it came as a
shock to them, for she had lingered
long and patiently.
From the humblest to the highest
of her friends all pay the highest
tribute to her beautiful character.
For those who did not really know
her it is hard to realize her won
drous strength of soul and her loving
kindness to all. Even after a short
acquaintance you could easily see
that “Speak a kind word today”
could truthfully be applied as one
of her daily mottoes.
It always seemed to me that she
had a kind and cheerful word for
everyone and was ever grateful, even
in the midst of her suffering for any
little kindness bestowed upon her.
For about fourteen years she had
in a way been an invalid. It has
been my joy and pleasure to have
known her the last six years of her
life, and never once to my knowl
edge did she lose hope or seem to
resent her unfortunate lot. Instead
as the years passed, her suffering
seemed to strengthen her and she
grew broader in soul and mind.
Mr. Evan Harvey, husband of the
deceased, must find consolation in
the thought that he has been to her
in every way an ideal husband He
has always had a cheerful smile and
the kindest of words for the wife
that waited ever and bore her illness
with so much patience.
And to the son, Earl, who has been
to her a living ray of happiness,
striving to win her approval in the
things he undertook to do, he, too,
will be comforted by the thought
that he has hjen everything to his
mother a loving son could be.
It was hard for Mrs. Harvey to
leave her husband and son. They
had never failed her, and again it
was very hard for them to give her
up, but the fate of father and son
is the common fate of all sooner or
later.
“Into each life some rain must
fall.”
Let her strength of soul, kindness
of heart and the cheerfulness of her
constant smile linger forever in your
memory and inspire you to live here
so as to meet her in the great be
yond, for remember:
“Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
was not spoken of the soul.”

Tribute To Little Girl
On October 14, 1922, the death
angel came and took away from the
home of our friend, Mr. and Mrs. E.
B. Duncan, the sweet little girl.
Gennett. She was about seven years
of age and was loved by all who
knew her. She was the sweetest
flower of the home in which the good
Lord had placed her on this earth,
but the Lord wanted to give her a
better home in that bright and shin
ing home above where she can beckon
with outstretched arms to her loved
ones and the host of friends that she
left on this earth to mourn after her.
She had often talked about the
death of others and would say that
the good Lord had placed another
star in heaven and I am sure that
she has been added to that heavenly
host that has gone on before her.
She w'as called away with only a
i few hours of warning which was such
a shock to her friends and play
mates in her community. Her little
' dress caught fire by some unknown
' cause to the writer and she was
i burned so badly that it caused her
! death, but in all of her pain and suf
fering this sweet little brave girl
did not cry.
She was attentive and faithful to
her Sunday School.

BIG REDUCTIONS
IN FORD CARS
According to a statement just is
sued by Edsel B. Ford, President of
the Ford Motor Company, Detroit, a
general reduction of $50.00 a car has
been made in the prices of Ford
Model T Cars and Ford One Ton
Trucks, effective October 17th.
“The revision in prices,” said Mr.
Ford, “is the result of the increased
volume of business which our Com
pany has enjoyed during the present
year, and, also, to the fact that we
now own and operate many of our
own sources of raw material, which
enables us to continue increasing the
.quality of our produce and at the
same time keep the price so low that
Ford cars are in reach of everybody.
“Our production for 1922 is al
ready in excess of a million, which
has been an important factor in
bringing down costs. Our present
daily output is averaging better than
5,000 cars and trucks, which means
a complete Ford car or Truck evejry
5Vi seconds of each eight-hour work
ing day. It is in anticipation of this
continued demand that price adjust
ments are again being made in order
to keep in effect the policy of sell
ing Ford products at the lowest price
consistent with quality.
“Quality, as usual,” said Mr. Ford,
“will continue to be a prime consid
eration in the building of Ford Cars.
As our business has increased we
have constantly increased our equip
ment and manufacturing facilities,
so that this price reduction merely
reflects the progressive methods
which come as a result of increased
volume.
“This reduction which is the sixth
since March, 1920, brings the price
of the Ford Touring Car from $575,
the price in effect early in 1920, to
the present extremely low level of
$298.00, which is nearly 50 per cent
less. Corresponding reductions have
been made on all other types.
The new prices by types follow:
Touring $298
Roadster $269
Chassis $235
.Coupe $530
Sedan $595

How Not to Take Cold.
Some persons are subject to fre
quent colds, while others seldom, if
ever have a cold. You will find that
the latter take good care of them
selves. They take a shower or cold
sponge bath every day in a warm
room, avoid over heated rooms, sleep
with a window open or partly open,
avoid excesses, over eating, becoming
over heated and then chilled and get
ting the feet wet. Then, when thev
feel the first indication of a cold,
they take Chamberlain’s Cough
Remedy without delay and it is soon
over.

Embarrassing.
My most embarrassing moment was

He said something. I thought he
