The treatment I* based on a re
markable prescription known as Dr.
Xing's New Discovery for Cough*.
Teu simply take a teaspoonful at
night before retiring, and hold It In
your throat for 15 or 20 seconds be
fore swallowing it, without follow
ing with water. The prescription
lifiß a double action. it not only;
'Voothea and heals soreness and irrl—

removes the phlegm and congestion
which are the direct cause of th
coughing. The result Is you usually,
•Jeep soundly the very first night.
Sind the entire cough condition goes
in a very short time.
The prescription Is highly recom
mended for coughs, chest colds,
hoarseness, and bronchitis, and is
■wonderful for children's coughs and
spasmodic croup—no harmful drugs.
Economical, too, as the dose Is only
one teaspoonful. At ull good drug

FROM LAKELAND, FLORIDA
Dear Mr. Hardy:—
We find ourselves most pleasantly
located in Lakeland, the City of
Lakes, and for natural scenery it is
unexcelled, I dare say in the world.
The large proves of oranges,
grapefruit, lemons and tangerines,
fields of strawberries and wonderful
gardens are a marvel at this season.
The palm walks and hedges of hisbis
cus and poinsetia are a riot of rich
coloring, while the moss-d rapped,
trees lend a back ground of mystical
grey beauty.
The city park is thronged by tour
ists from every state in the union,
the brass band rendering wonderful
selections throughout the day. Games
of every sort are engaged in at the
same time and there is transportation
to all points of the city from this
park.
Heal estate is the leading business.
Hundreds are engaged i n it and prop
erty here is over doubling its value
in six months time. We arrived in
time to grow up with Lake Parker,
Cleveland Heights and scores of
other sub-divisions.
The most delicious fruits are yours
free gratis for the gathering and it
is useless to suy we revel in the
nectar thereof.
This is the best investment prop
erty available, one grove of 40 acres
near us was bought for $1200.00 two
years ago and sold last week for
$86,000.00. Vacant lots that sold
last year for $150.00 are now sell
ing rapidly for SBOO.OO.
We have a wonderful tourist club.
It costs only 50c to join and that en
titles the members (we are honorary
members, however, by Doctor being
a lecturer) to the- most wonderful
entertainments, all kinds of amuse
ments, banquets, fish fries, beside be
ing at all times the recipients of their
assistance from business to school
ing your children and, by the way,
Florida has Georgia and Alabama
beaten on one thing: Fre<j public
schools here are free. You expend
60 cents per student for use* of sta
tionery and pencils and that’s the
whole of it. Lakeland’s Fair is now
going on. 1 haven’t had the pleas
ure of visiting it so far but I hear
it is wonderful.
1 trust I won’t have to ask you to
change my paper’s address any more.
I’ve caught up on moving, especially
since I thought 1 had lost my second
eldest boy in the city of Jacksonville.
After having my transportation ex
tended, detectives, plain-clothes men,
officials of the terminal and hundreds
assisting in the search, while radio
broadcasted his description, we were
tearfully delighted to have him walk
in leisurely as the last train was be
ing made up for Lakeland. He had
been down to the dock watching the
boats come in and thought I heard
him tell me he was going. 1 guess
we learn to appreciate them more
when , we think we’ve lost them.
Fardon this digression from strict
ly business, but I didn’t know but
that you might cull a few descrip
tive items of interest for your read
ers, as it’s always a great pleasure
to me to read news from Barnesville.
Sincerely,
MRS. W’. H. TUCK.

PROSPERITY NECESSARY
FOR THE RAILROADS
The farmer’s welfare and that of
business generally can best be served
by permitting the railways to earn
sufficient money to supply adequate
transportation—the prime need of
the country—is the opinion of Presi
dent L. A. Downs, of the Central of
Georgia Railway Company, in an in
teresting statement discussing freight
rates on farm products. Mr. Downs
asserts that the interests of the farm
ers and the railways are mutual,
pointing out that agriculture fur
nishes much traffic to the railways
and that railway facilities have
opened the markets of the world to
the farmer.
The railway executive points out
that farm conditions are steadily im
proving and that in the past two
years the value of farm products has
increased two and a half billion dol
lars. He quotes from the Interstate
Commerce Commission to prove that
the present level of freight rates
does not interefere with the free
movement of farm products and says
that the law of supply and demand
and not freight rates controls the
market price of farm products. He
says further that freight rates are
but a minor factor in the farmer’s
bill of costs and that they are not
out of proportion to other rates. He
says that the railways are in no con
dition to withstand reduction in rev
enue because in 1924 they earned
but 4.3 per cent on the value of their
property devoted to transportation.
He cite§ numerous instan -es of gen
eral and specific rate reductions on
products of the farm, and says “the
farmer needs service from the rail
ways. He can afford to pay reason
ble rates that will permit them to
supply him with transportation. He
cannot afford to endorse a crippling
policy of rate reduction that will pre
vent the carriers from giving Rim
dependable service.

When on the farm where kerosene
is still used, or in camp, or a summer

temper. Tie a stout cord to the bail
of your oil can, tip the ball over next
the handle away from the spout, then
as you fill lamps, lanterns or oil
stoves take the string firmly under
your thumb and hold with the han

as it is very likely to do, without the
string to hold it.
