- You Suffer?
Backache isn’t the mystery it used
lo be, years ago. Most times it s due
to kidney disorder, which means
eimply that the kidneys aren't work
ing as they should to filter the blood
and keep it free from uric poison.
So, if your back is lame and sore
and you are nervous, despondent,
rick, irritable, subject to dizzy spells
and bladder difficulties, you want
something to help the kidneys do
their work.
Drink plenty of water between
meals and take Dr. Pierce’s An-uric
(anti-uric-acid) tablets before each
meal. Get An-uric at any drug store.
This is the new kidney-backache
diuretic discovered by Dr. Pierce,
Pres, the famous Clinic in Buffalo,
N. Y. Send 10c for a trial package.

LAMONT NOTES
Quite a large crowd attended the
Bamesville Civitan meeting at Ra
mah last Thursday night. The la
dies served a nice supper for seventy
five cents, consisting of three courses,
which every one seemed to enjoy,
and Judge Hardy, the presiding of
ficer of the club, pulled off a good
program in a very humorous manner
The talks made by Persons, Willing
ham, Corry, Franklin, Jones and
Dobbs were good, and the solo ren
dered by Mrs. Armstrong and the
duet by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Prout
added much to the program. The
meeting was a success in every way.
The ladies of the church were well
repaid for their trouble, as I un
derstand they have over one hundred
dollars to put in the new- church, be
sides the twenty-five dollar donation
by Judge Persons and the ten dollars
by Solicitor Willingham. The mem
bers of the church and the entire
community feel proud of new Ra
mah and hope the Civitans will come
again.

THE WAY OF THE TRANSGRESSOR IS HARD”
There is no joy in tricky ways.
Who does not justly earn his goal
The price for such a victory pays,
For shame shall torture long the soul.
What if I could, by cunning, claim
The victor’s share of fame or pelf
And hide from all the world my shame?
I could not hide it from myself.
—Selected.
“The way of transgressor is hard.” Proverbs 13:15.
The man who breaks the law of nature in order to satisfy some
physical desire or perverted appetite may enjoy a temporary pleas
ure, but the price is too great. For a diseased body or mind is the
consequence thereof. Broken health is the price exacted for the
breaking of nature’s laws.
And again he who breaks the laws of society because they do
not accord with his eccentricities or for any other reason, however
good it may seem to him, will find himself out of harmony with his
fellowmen. He may not find hirnself completely ostracised, but he
will find that to the extent he has failed to harmonize with the ex
pressed standards of society to that extent the social order expels
him. And to that extent is he unable to reap the rewards which
our social order provides for its members.
The man who breaks the laws of his state either pays himself
or someone ejse pays the penalty thereof. The way of the law
breaker is not only hard for himself, but he imposes a burden upon
the lawabiding citizen. He may go to the chaingang or to the
electric chair. Either penalty is hard. But that is not the end of
it. The lawabiding citizens for the most part pay the expenses of
our courts and for the upkeep of the entire organization which
administers our laws.
The way of the transgressor is hard. The law is the standard
of right relationship. The law of nature is the right relationship
of the various members of the body. The law of society is the
standard of the right relationship of the various members of the
social order. The law of the state is the standard of the right re
lationship of the citizens of the state. The wrong relationship
brings disorder and suffering. This is true in the body, the social
order and the state. Law is law because it is right. And right is
right because it is best for the individual and for the whole social
order of which the individual is a member. Our happiness is meas
ured by the number of right relationships we may make. We suffer
in proportion to the number of wrong relationships we make.
Every man should love the law because it is right. But he
should also love it because without love for the right he will find
it impossible to observe the law. Keeping the law is not merely an
act of the will. It finds its seat in the heart. He whose heart is
devoted to the truth will find it easy to do right. And he who is
not devoted to the truth will find it difficult to do right. Get your
heart right with God. Let Christ into your heart. Permit him to
control your heart and you will find that the matter of making the
right adjustments with all law will be an easy matter.
We commend most heartily Judge Persons as a Superior Court
Judge. Such men as he can do much to raise the standards of right
living in our county. He has a fine sense of right and wrong. He
not only knows the law, but he knows the right relationships be
tween men. And he has the courage to enforce the law. And oc
cupying the position he does in our midst, he is a strong moral
factor. The Solicitor General, Mr. Willingham, has also made a
fine impression as an officer. And we trust that all citizens who
love the right will help these men as our officers to raise higher the
moral and spiritual standards in our community.
—Rev. Arthur Jackson, in his Church Bulletin.
