fl Tribute of Love-
o
On the morning of Sept, ist, the
spirit of Mrs. Sallie Jordan Willis
winged its flight from earth to the
bright celestial sphere.
She exchanged a life of suffering
for one of eternal joy.
For half a century she brought sun
shine and happiness to everyone who
knew her. Early in life she chose
that good part which could not be
taken from her, and since then she
has lived the religion of Jesus. Though
her life was shadowed for many years
by a cloud of affliction, for her that
cloud had a silver lining—the sustain
ing grace of our I ord. She bore all
suffering with remarkable patience
through faith in Christ.
In her tender, loving, sympathetic
way, she drew everyone to her.
Verily can it be said of her—to know
her was to love her. Her life was
an inspiration to all in the community
and especially was she beloved by the
young, so bright, so cheerful, so con
siderate was she of everyone. No
one could have come in contact with
this modest Christian character with
out being influenced by it. It was
iher delight to study God’s Word and
rest upon His promises. Many are
•the sad hearts, but we know that our
loss is her eternal gain, “l’recious in
the sight of the Lord is the death of
His saints.”
She has gone to meet her loved
■ ones, and to dwell in peace with
Christ. May we all strive to emulate
her example, and at last hear the
welcome plaudit that was surely given
her. One who loved her.

dreaded disease that science has been
able to cure in all its stages and that is
•Catarrh. Hall’s Catarrh Cure is the only
|K>B'tive cure now known to the medical
fraternity. Catarrh being a constitutional
disease, requires a constitutional treat
ment. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken in
ternally, acting directly upon the blood
and mucous surface of the system, there
by destroying the foundation of the dis
ease, and giving the pit lent strength by
building up the constitution and assist

prietors have so much faith in its cura
tive powers, that they offer One Hundred
Dollars for auy asc that it fails to cure.

Sometimes the most careful women
are the most careless. Many a woman

sickness that can come to a woman. She
allows a slight disorder to become worse

P. E. Butler, of pack-train No. S,
writing from Santirgo de Cuba, on July
2:>rd, says: “We all have diarrhoas in
more or less violent form, and when we
landed we had no time to see a doctor,
for it was a case of rush and rush night
and day to keep :he troops supplied with
ammunition and rations, but thanks to
Chamberlain’s Colic, Cholera and Diar
rhoea Remedy, we were able to keep at
work and keep our health; in fact, I sin
cerely believe that at one critical time
this medicine was the indirect saviour of
our army, for if the packers had been
unable to work there would have been
no way of getting supplies to the front.
There were no roads that a wagon could
use. My comrade and myself had the
good fortune to lay in a supply of this
medicine for our pack train before we

absolutely saved life.”

An Array off Dragon Fliea.
A professor of zoology at LHle, M.
Charles Barrios, was making a tom
through Morbikan, in Prance As he
was walking along the road he noticed
that a multitude of dragon flies were
alighting on the telegraph wires. The
singular thing about it was that they
all rested at an equal distance from each
other, and all occupied the same posi
tion, with head turned toward the west.
From all sides the dragon flies arriv
ed and always placed themselves in the
same position and at the same distance
from each other. They remained as if
glued to the wire, motionless and para
lyzed. Each new arrival flew over the
fixed bodies of the others and took its
place in tho line.
This chain stretched itself out toward
the west and turned toward the setting
sun. Professor Barrios followed the
route for a long distance and found the
same strange phenomenon. He estimat
ed the number at 60,000, at least. At
an abrupt turn of the road to the south
the telegraph line turned also. There
not a dragon fly was in sight I k The wire
was absolutely free from them! With
the change of direction it seemed to
have lost attraction for them.
Was this chance? Did the electric
currents running from the east to the
west exercise any influence upon these
insects? Was it the solar reflection? Ex
plain it, who can. In any case it would
be interesting to know whether this
phenomenon be an isolated one or not
