\hat you buy
; LET IT BE THE BEST

things, and in making purchases in DRUGS, TOILET ARTICLES,

JUST ONE YEAR.
Today ends my first year in business. I haven't gotten rich, but
am pretty well satisfied, owing to the exceedingly hard times we
have -been having. I know it is impossible to make money very fast
and sell at the remarkably low prices I have at, and sell the very
best goods. But, my customers are all well pleased and. continue to
trade with me, and I have the satisfaction of knowing I have saved
them money and made a little myself. So we are all moving along
happily together. Now, if you would be happy too, come and join
the hand; the initiation bill is small, only :
Softs. PRIDE OF BARNESVILLE FLOUR, $1.25

Of course if you want to make it larger, I will be glad to do, and
instead of “riding the goat,” I will give you a ride on the “yellow
dray.” You will find “Baalum” perfectly gentle, and there is no dan
ger of being hurt by either the ride or in the trade. Hoping to have
the pleasure of initiating you real soon, I am, yours very truly,

Dress Goods.
We are pleased to announce to our friends that we have secured
the services of MISS LILLIE COOPER, who will have charge of our
.;.Dress Goods Department...
Our buyer used great care in his purchases for this department
and we have novelties to offer which cannot be found elsewhere#
We have already duplicated our assortment was broken
early# New goods just received. Our line of
Gapes, Jackets and Cloaks
surpasses anything we have ever shown. Our salesladies are
anxious to show you the fit and quality of these garments. A poor#
shoddy, ilhfitting and slouchily made jacket tends to lessen a wom
an’s selhrespect. A neat, tasty, welhfitting one increases it# We
think we can help you to combine all the desirable qualities of a
handsome jacket at a price suited to your purse, It will pay you to
visit us before you finally decide on your fall apparel,
We have Prints, Ginghams, Cheviots, Checks, Sea Island and
Domestics bought at manufacturers prices and can save you money#

A Gentle
Reminder
as to debt paying, prompt
payment of obligations, past
favors honestly rendered, is
entitled to some attention
just at this time. We are
hinting to those that promised
to pay us by now for values
received. Ifyou’l remember
right, we didn’t pin you down
close either, for those goods.
If you’l remember right, we
have’nt worried you up to
now either. We’l part from
the allegory fashion of asking
for help, and come at once
to hard facts in the case.
We are not responsible for
the low price of king cotton.
But whether you owe us or
someone else. Let us whis
per this much in your ear:
If you be prompt in meeting
your obligations this is the
best of recommendations,
and if you lose your credit,
you lose all. Let all hands,
and the cook too, quit sqal
ling out, “hard times,” and
stand to the rack, “fodder or
no fodder”. Let every one
come forward, settle up,
scratch out, call it even and
let's start again. Don't
.believe everything you hear—
some one told it, we were
selling Octogon soap 7 bars
for 25c, agd 20 pounds gran
ulated sugar for SI.OO, and
Long Horn, Schnapps and
I'lumb Good tobacco at the
old price. They were right
on the tobacco, but we can’t
do this much longer. How
ever, we will do this as long
as we want to. We have
been misrepresented in va
rious ways here of late, and
all we can say or do to our
customers and friends, is for
them not to form an opinion
too quickly. There’s always
two sides to a question and a
falsehood can grow at a ter
rible rate in the hands of a
falsifier, all good things are
imitated or worked against,
and a prosperous businesses
one ol them.
