the mother whose babes are a burden in

Giu Burned.
Thursday night last week, the
ginnery of Messrs. J. W. and J. G.
Bush, some miles out from Barnes
villc, was burned. It contained
eleven bales of cotton and a car of
cotton seed. There was no insur
ance, as the policy had just expired.
The cotton belonged to different cus
tomers.
It is strongly believed that the fire
was of incendiary origin, but it is
not known who the guilty parties
are. It was quite a heavy loss to the
owners of the ginnery and the cotton.
Hotel at Cullodon Burned.
Monday morning the Davis house
at Culloden caught fire and burned
down. Old Uncle Billie Davis was
sick in the hotel and had to be carried
out. The house was owned by W.
R. Davis and was insured for $2,000
and the furniture was insured for sl,-
500, all with Cabaniss, Callaway &
Cabaniss of Macon. The building
contained twenty-one rooms, was two
stories high, but can't be replaced for
$2,000. Mr. O. O. Askin lost all of
his wearing apparel in the fire, so did
Mrs. Davis. Indeed, very little was
saved.

men.
