These Civilian Defense Courses for
Police are being held by the Federal
Bureau of Investigation in order that
State, County and local emergency
duties which will be expected of them
in times of war. They have the official
approval of the Office of Civilian De
fense and will include such subjects
as convoy work, guarding protected
places and area, utility surveys,
blackout enforcement, cooperation
with other emergency agencies, action
in case of grounded enemy aircraft
and barrage balloons, gas decontami- ■
nation, prevention of malicious acts,'
internal security investigation, evacu-;
ation problems, looting problems, !
maintenance of maps and charts, traf- j
sic problems, police communication j
problems, police personnel problems, |
war duty officers’ duties, reorganiza-1
tion problems, air raid precaution i
work, and protection of police person-i

by police officers, firemen, anil air; ,
raid personnel in London and other | <
English cities prior to and during air ]
raids. The instruettor who will teach | •
the course at Albany, Georgia, will bo I

sessions and classes will last from
9 a. m. to 6 p. m. from January 26 to
January 30, 1942, inclusive, with one

to 4 p. m.
