STAMP SALES IN SEMINOLE
The Junior and Senior Tri-Hi-Y’s I
of the Seminole High School are spon- i
j soring the sale of defense stamps and
! bonds in the school. Approximately
i $35 worth of stamps are sold in the
school each week. The first bond to be
bought in the school was purchased
by Miss Evelyn Ingram of the seventh i
grade. This bond was presented to
Miss Ingram in a chapel program.
At present the section of the seven
th grade, taught by Mrs. R. C. Rob
erts, is leading the school in the pur
chase of bonds. About 150 children are
purchasing stamps regularly each
week and many hope to complete their '
$25 before school closes.
A. A. A. CHECKS RECEIVED
Os interest to farmers in Seminole
County was the announcement this
week by Emmett Wiggins, County
Administrative Officer, that fifty (50)
1941 Conservation checks have been
received, amounting to approximate
ly $1400.00. More checks are expected j
in the near future.
In announcing the arrival of these i
( checks, Mr. Wiggins pointed out that,!
under a new ruling by the U. S. j
Treasury Department, checks would
be mailed directly to producers begin
ning with all Conservation applica
| tions transmitted to headquarters af
ter March Ist, 1942. This ruling ap
plies to all states uniformly. Produc
ers, whose addresses have changed,
are urged to notify the County Of
fice or the Post master so that there
will be no delay in delivery of checks.
) Farmers are being notified that
March 31st, 1942, is the last day for i
filing 1941 Parity and Conservation
applications.
