WAR is hard on
our budget too ...
so adjustments must be made!
" t -j *
Never in the world's history have wars been cheap ...
but we'd much rather pay our share toward Victory
than shoulder the burden and price of defeat.
Naturally all along the way we've had to make
numerous changes. A number of our employees are in
the service and those remaining are carrying the
added burden of extra duties while they subscribe
100% to the purchases of War Bonds and Stamps.
We've always tried to do more than our share, and
we're going to do just that in aiding Uncle Sam's war
effort. But to do this, we must operate our business
sensibly, too.
Fuel oil, an important element in the cost of generat
ing electricity, will cost more this year than last year.
The rationing of automotive equipment and tires has
curtailed our use of all but essential equipment.
Throughout the area served by This Company manu
facturing, agriculture and distribution of goods are at
a high pitch of activity. The armed forces have built
schools and begun other activities which place addi
tional responsibility upon us in this community's war
program.
We realize the job we have to do and we intend to
do the best we can with what we have, and we ask
for a continuation of your splendid past co-operation.

SERVICE TO CUSTOMER, COMMUNITY AND COUNTRY
This Service Star window
card should be seen in every
home in America that is rep
resented by a father, husband,
son or brother in the Armed
Forces of the United States.
It emphasizes America’s pride
in those who are serving our
country in time of war.
BLUE, SILVER OR GOLD
The Blue Star indicates service in
the Army, Navy or Marine Corps
within the boundaries of the United
States.
The Silver Star denotes service out
side the continental United States,
either on the high seas, in the
United States possessions, or on
foreign soil.
The Gold Star is America’s tribute
to those who make the supreme
sacrifice under the Stars and
Stripes in time of war.

You are entitled to display the
proper star for each member of
your family serving in the Armed
Forces of the United States of
America. For example, if you are
the parent of one boy in camp in
the U.S.A., you are entitled to one
Blue Star. If you have two sons
in service—one in the U.S.A, and
one outside the U.S.A.—you are
entitled to a Service Star card
bearing one Blue Star and one
Silver Star.

HOW YOU
can help!
You can help a lot by taking the
best possible care of your present
electrical appliance aids. See that
cracked or broken switches are re
paired, frayed cords are replaced
and above all, keep an adequate
supply of the correct size fuses on
hand at all times. When replacing
blown-out fuses, be sure that the
cause of the outage has been cor
rected. Remember, a broken ap
pliance is a handcuffed worker —
have them repaired . . . see your
Electrical Dealer today.
