supplying vital power to war industries and military estab
lishments over the entire state. Just a few weeks ago work
' was begun on another 66,000 volt transmission line to serve
over BBBH men at the new base. Over 99%
war effort. -
At the present time electric power is being served to
((3/ over 8881 Airports and Training Fields—as well as num-
\ erous camps and other military establishments. All requests
for power to serve in the war effort have been met ahead of
schedule with no interruption to domestic needs.
When the war is won, and victory is ours and we return
ohrilian life—we'll have a story to tell—a story far sur
passing any present dreams. But until then we'll just go on
serving and working toward a speedy victory.

A RESOLUTION
;1942 Tax Levy.
GEORGIA, Seminole County.
“Be it resolved bv the Board of
Commissioners of Roads and Revenue
; of Seminole County, Georgia, that for
. the year 1942, 12 mills or $12.00 on
the SIOOO.OO be and the same is hereby
assessed, levied and fixed as the rate
of taxation for county purposes on all
I taxable property in said county, and
in addition thereto, 6 mills or 86.00
j on the $1,000.00 is hereby levied as
; sessed and fixed for same year for
the purpose of paying bonds and in
terest thereon, making a total of
■ eighteen (18 > mills, and the tax col
lector of said county is hereby order
ed to make out and collect county tax
; es at said rates on all of the taxable
property in said county for said year
! 1942”. It is further ordered that said
taxes be apportioned and used for the
■following specific purposes, to-wit:
I 1. To pay the legal indebtedness of
the county, due or to become due dur
ing the year, or past due, one dollar
and seventy-five Cents ($1.75) on the
! thousand.
2. To build or repair courthouse,;
. jails, bridges, ferries, or other public I
; improvements, according to contract,
one dollar and twenty-five cents
! ($1.25) on the thousand.
3. To pay Sheriff, jailors, or other
i officers’ fees for which the county is
; liable, seventy (.70) cents on the
; thousand.
i 4. To pay coroners all fees due them
; by the county for holding inquests, ten
(.10) cents on the thousand.
5. To pay the expenses of the coun
ty, for bailiffs at courts, non-resident
witnesses in criminal cases, fuel, em
ployee’s wages, stationery, and the
like, fifty (.50) cents on the thousand.
6. To pay jurors a per diem compen
sation, fifty (.50) cents on the thou
sand.
7. To pay expenses incurred in
supporting the poor of the county, six
ty (.60) cents on the thousand.
8. To pay any other lawful charge
against the county, seventy-five (.75)
cents on the thousand.
9. To pay the expenses of working
public roads in the county, three dol
lars and fifty cents ($3.50) on the
thousand.
10. To pay for the collection and
preservation of records of birth, death
and health, ten (.10) cents on the
thousand.
11. To pay county agricultural and
j home demonstration agents, (Georgia
I Law, Extra Session 1937-38 page 144),
I fifty (.50) cents on the thousand.
12. To provide for payment of old
age assistance to aged persons in
need and for the payment of assis
tance to the needy, blind, and to de
pendent children, and other welfare
benefits; (Acts 1937-38, Extra Ses
sion, page 292-293), One Dollar and
fifty cents ($1.50) on the thousand.
13. To provide medical or other care
and hospitalization for the indigent
sick people of the county, twenty-five
(.25) cents on the thousand.
14. To create a fund for the pay
; ment of the principal and interest due
during and for the year 1942, on the
courthouse and jail and road bonds
and to create a sinking fund thereon,
■ six dollars ($6.00) on the thousand.
15. For the support of the public
■ schools of the county upon the recom
mendation and request therefor from
; the Board of Education of said county,
under authority of an amendment to
‘paragraph 1, Section 4, Article 8 of
the Constitution of the State of Geor
gia, adopted at the general election
held in 1920, five ($5.00) Dollars on
the thousand.
16. That there be assessed, levied
and fixed as the rate of taxation for
educational purposes for the year
1942 in accordance with the provisions
of section 129 of the School code of
Georgia, for each of the local school
districts of Seminole County the
number of mills hereinafter set out
as recommended by the Local Board
of Trustees for each district, together
with the county superintendent, as
follows:
Donalsonville Consolidated District
for school 5 mills; for bonds 8 mills,
total 13 mills.
Iron City Consolidated District for
schools 3 mills.
Carthage district, for schools 5
mills.
Griselda District for schools 5 mills.
Leia District for school, 5 mills.
Spring Creek Consolidated School
District for schools 5 mills, for bonds
5 mills, total 10 mills.
This levy to be in addition to the
County-wide levy of 5 mills, as above
recommended by the county Board of
Education and assessed and levied bv
this Board.
Done in regular session with all
members of the Board present, this
the Ist day of September, 1942.
